Common Registration Issues and Fixes
- Payment failed but amount deducted: Wait for the payment status to update on the portal; a failed transaction amount is credited back to the source account.
- OTP not received: Re-check the mobile number and email address entered during registration — the OTP is sent to both.
- Unable to register: This is often a temporary technical issue; candidates are advised to retry after a few hours.
- Checking application status: Log in to JOAPS to view your status — a completed application will show as either "Accepted" or "Defective," the latter meaning an issue needs to be resolved.
- Photograph rejected: The photo will need to be re-uploaded as per specification during the form correction window.
What Happens After Submission
The IIT JAM 2027 form correction window is expected to open around November 10, 2026, tentatively. [VERIFY] Not all details are expected to be editable during this window — candidates should verify every field carefully before final submission rather than relying on later correction.
