JEE Main 2027 Registration Live: Session 1 Application Open Till November 22

JEE Main 2027 registration is an important step for candidates seeking admission to engineering courses at NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutions. Candidates must complete the online application carefully to avoid errors.

Before starting the JEE Main 2027 application form, keep the following documents ready:

• Aadhaar card or other permitted identity proof
• Class 10 and Class 12 academic details
• Recent photograph and signature
• Valid mobile number and email ID
• Category certificate, if applicable

Enter your personal details, academic information, and examination preferences correctly, and verify everything before submitting. The application process is complete only after the prescribed fee is paid and the confirmation page is generated.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has allowed candidates who made mistakes while filling out the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application form to submit a fresh application. In a public notice issued on October 30, 2026, the agency clarified that candidates can apply again even if they have already generated an application number or paid the examination fee.

The examination fee paid against the earlier application will neither be refunded nor adjusted against the fresh application.

The last date to submit the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application form without a late fee is November 22, 2026, up to 11:50 PM. Candidates must also complete the application fee payment by the same deadline.

Those who miss this date can submit their forms during the late-fee window from November 23 to November 26, 2026, by paying an additional late fee of INR 500.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has allowed candidates who made mistakes while filling out the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application form to submit a fresh application. In a public notice issued on October 30, 2026, the agency clarified that candidates can apply again even if they have already generated an application number or paid the examination fee.

• New application number: NTA will generate a new application number for every fresh application form.
• Re-enter all details: Candidates must enter their personal, academic, and contact details again.
• Upload documents again: Photographs, signatures, and other required documents must be uploaded afresh.
• Previous fee: The examination fee paid against the earlier application will neither be refunded nor adjusted against the fresh application.

The JEE Main exam for B.E./B.Tech (Paper 1) will consist of three sections—Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics—with 75 MCQs carrying 300 marks, conducted online as a computer-based test.

Paper 2A (B.Arch) will consist of 77 questions carrying 400 marks, and Paper 2B (B.Plan) will have 100 MCQs of 400 marks.

Paper 2 will be conducted online except for the drawing section of Paper 2A, which is conducted offline.

After registration closes, NTA may release subsequent notices related to the correction window, examination city information, admit card, and other examination-related activities.

Details that can be changed:

• Medium of examination (based on permanent/present address)

Details that cannot be changed:

• Mobile number
• Email address
• Present or permanent address
• Emergency contact details
• Candidate photograph

The JEE Main 2027 correction facility will remain open from November 27 to 29, 2026. Candidates can access it through the JEE Main login on the portal using their application number and password. Since this is a one-time facility and only limited fields are editable, all changes should be made carefully.

Candidates are also advised to submit only one application form. NTA may cancel multiple forms and reject the candidature of applicants who file more than one.

Document upload issues: Have your scanned documents ready in the correct dimensions before starting.

Application fee payment issues: If you face technical issues, wait and try again later. If the amount is charged but the status still shows "not paid," wait 24 hours for the update.

Timeout or "File Not Found" error: For smooth JEE Main 2027 registration, use the latest version of Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer on a stable connection. If timeout errors occur, clear your browser's cookies and history, and try during off-peak hours.

Candidates can verify that their JEE Main application has been accepted by checking for the generated Confirmation Page or Acknowledgement Slip.

Steps to verify application status:

1. Log in to jeemain.nta.nic.in using your application number and password.
2. Check the status directly on the dashboard.
3. Download the Confirmation Page (available only after successful fee payment).
4. If the confirmation page is missing, the payment is either pending or failed.

A common cause of a rejected JEE Main 2027 application or last-minute panic is mismatched identification documents. Keep these ready:

• Active Aadhaar Card (if using Aadhaar as ID document)
• Other ID proof
• Working mobile number and email ID
• Valid category certificates
• Academic mark sheets

NTA has introduced a late-fee facility for JEE Main 2027 applications. For Session 1, candidates can submit the form until November 26, 2026, with an additional late fee of INR 500. For Session 2, the last date for late-fee submission is February 7, 2027.

Aspirants must beware of fraudulent sites and submit personal or payment details only on valid .nic.in or .ac.in domains.

• Photograph: Recent colour/B&W, 80% face coverage, white background, no caps/goggles, ears visible
• Signature: Blue/black ink on white paper, clearly scanned; no capitalised block letters
• Class 10 Certificate/Marksheet: Scanned copy
• Disability/UDID Certificate: Scanned copy (if applicable)
• Physical Limitation Certificate: Scanned copy (if applicable)
• Non-Indian Passport: Scanned copy (for foreign nationals, including OCI)

Physics: Modern Physics, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Thermodynamics

Chemistry: Chemical Bonding, GOC, Coordination Compounds, Physical Chemistry

Mathematics: Integral & Differential Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Matrices, Vector Algebra

DigiLocker may store outdated Aadhaar data even if your Aadhaar is linked there. Recent changes—name spelling, address, or phone number—won't reflect until you re-sync. If DigiLocker shows old details while NTA checks current ones, errors occur. Re-KYC simply fetches a fresh Aadhaar copy from UIDAI.

Tailor your revision to your remaining time and preparation level. Focus on:

• Formulas and short notes
• Previous-year questions
• Weak/missed concepts
• Timed mock tests
• Post-test mistake review

Give time to all three subjects—don't get stuck on one tough chapter.

There is no ideal number for everyone. It depends on your accuracy, your preparation and the marking scheme. In mock tests, track the questions you attempt, get right, get wrong and leave blank, plus the time you spend on hard questions. Attempting more doesn’t always raise your score, so use the analysis to find the balance of speed and accuracy that suits you.

Plan your time so you can finish without rushing:

• Start with questions you know well.
• Don’t spend too long on one hard problem.
• Move on when you’re stuck, and mark it to return to.
• Keep a few minutes at the end to review.

Test this plan in mock exams and adjust it to your strengths.

Choose your exam cities carefully in the application form:

• Check which cities the portal offers.
• Consider travel distance and transport.
• Enter your choices in the order the form asks for.
• Read the official instructions on exam cities.

A preferred city does not guarantee allotment. NTA decides the final centre based on availability.

A mismatch between your live photo and your other photo may need attention. To reduce the chance of this:

• Use a recent, clear photograph.
• Capture the live photo in good lighting.
• Remove anything covering your face, such as a mask, cap or heavy shadow.
• Follow the portal’s on-screen instructions.
• Contact the official helpdesk if the problem continues.

Don’t try to bypass identity verification or submit inaccurate information.

A live photograph is mandatory in the JEE Main 2027 application form, and it is separate from the photo you upload. If the live capture doesn’t work:

• Allow camera access for your browser or app.
• Use even, adequate lighting, and keep your face clearly inside the frame.
• Check your internet connection.
• Close other apps that may be using the camera.
• If it still fails, follow NTA’s official advisory. An uploaded photo can’t replace the live photo.

A wrongly formatted photograph can stop you from completing registration. To fix it:

• Check the prescribed file format and size.
• Use a clear image in which your face is visible.
• Match the dimensions given on the portal.
• Don’t keep re-uploading the same file after an error. Fix the problem first.
• Read the official instructions before trying again.
• Don’t edit the image in ways NTA prohibits.
