The photograph must be recent, in colour, with a white or very light background, showing the full face (no tinted glasses), with the face covering roughly 50% of the frame. The signature must be made in black or dark-blue ink on white paper, in running hand or capital letters — signatures in any other colour are not accepted.

The fee is payable online via net banking, credit card, debit card, or UPI, and is non-refundable. Candidates may appear for a maximum of two test papers, but the two chosen papers must not share the same exam session.
Exam Date and What Happens Next
JAM 2027 will be held on February 14, 2027 (Sunday) in computer-based test (CBT) mode, across two sessions. Seven test papers are on offer this cycle: Biotechnology, Chemistry, Economics, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, and Physics. The result is expected on March 18, 2027. Candidates can also select their preferred exam city while filling the form, provided the preference falls within the same test zone.
