IIT JAM 2025 Live Updates: Shift 1 Concludes, Paper Analysis and Question Paper Available

IIT JAM 2025 Shift 1 test has come to an end. This paper examination will include an analysis of the papers, reactions from the students, the difficulty level, details of the question paper, and expected cutoffs, while an update on Shift 2 will follow shortly.

The First Shift of February 2, 2025 IIT JAM Successfully Ends The first shift of the IIT JAM 2025 was between  9:30 o’clock in the morning and 12:30 o’clock in the  noon. The candidates who appeared for the test gave their first reactions regarding the level of difficulty, distribution of  questions and the cut off trends that they think will be there. Nevertheless, the second shift will start  from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. with varying subject  papers.  

Analysis of IIT JAM 2025 Paper: Difficulty Level  

 From the early reactions of the students and the experts, it was seen that the shift 1 paper  was rather moderate to difficult. The analysis of the subjects is as follows:  

1. Physics   Balanced concept and numericals.  Quantum Mechanics, Electromagnetic Theory and Classical Mechanics were given  more emphasis.  Some students said that the numerical were long and boring. 
2. A  Chemistry  Easy Organic, moderate Inorganic and simple in Physical Chemistry.  Some important topics included Reaction  Mechanisms, Thermodynamics and Coordination Chemistry.  Many students found heavy calculations in Physical Chemistry,  as reported by many students.
3. Mathematics The paper was mainly Algebra and Calculus-oriented. Several candidates of Linear Algebra and Differential Equations were found to be rather difficult. 
   The paper contained both conceptual and tricky application-based questions. 

Question Paper and Answer Key Availability

The IIT JAM 2025 Shift 1 question paper is out, and deliberations on detailed solutions by subject experts are underway. The official answer key is supposed to be out in a few days on the IITs. The unofficial answer keys by the guide institutes can be consulted in the meantime.

Expected Cutoff and Next Steps

1. The cutoff for IIT JAM 2025 will depend on the levels of difficulty and performance imparted by students. 
2. Initial reports indicate cutoffs for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to expect some marginal variation this time around from last year.
3. In a couple of weeks, candidates can expect the issuance of the road map and an answer key for IIT JAM 2025, with results to come in March 2025.
