The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has closed the defect rectification window for provisional candidates on March 15, 2025, ensuring timely resolution of application discrepancies ahead of the result declaration on March 19, 2025. In a crucial update for candidates awaiting the GATE 2025 results, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has confirmed that the defect rectification window for provisional candidates closed on March 15, 2025. This facility allowed candidates marked as provisional due to discrepancies or incomplete application information to correct errors and ensure their eligibility for the forthcoming results.

Importance of Defect Rectification

Provisional candidates were required to log in to the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal at gate2025.iitr.ac.in to rectify any defects in their applications. Failure to do so by the deadline would result in their GATE 2025 results being withheld, potentially impacting their admission prospects to postgraduate programs and eligibility for recruitment in public sector undertakings (PSUs).

Steps for Rectification

To rectify defects, candidates needed to follow these steps:

  • Visit the GOAPS Portal: Access the official GATE Online Application Processing System at gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
  • Log In: Use the enrollment ID and password to access the application dashboard.
  • Review Defects: Identify and address any issues marked as defects in the application.
  • Upload Corrected Documents: If necessary, upload corrected or missing documents.
  • Submit Changes: Review and submit the corrected application for verification.

GATE 2025 Results and Scorecards

IIT Roorkee has announced that the GATE 2025 results will be declared on March 19, 2025. Candidates can check their results for various papers, including EE, CS, EC, ME, CE, and DA, through the GOAPS portal. The GATE scorecards will be available for free download from March 28 to May 31, 2025. After this period, candidates can download their scorecards by paying a fee of INR 500 per paper until December 31, 2025.

Conclusion

The closure of the defect rectification window marks a critical phase for provisional candidates. Ensuring that all discrepancies are resolved is essential to avoid any complications in the result declaration process. With the results scheduled for release soon, candidates are advised to stay updated through the official GATE 2025 portal for any further announcements or updates.
