The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi, has officially announced the shortlist of candidates for the Personal Interview (PI) round of its MBA Full-Time 2026-28 batch. According to the latest notification released on the official portal, a total of 2,023 candidates have been selected to move forward to the final stage of the selection process. The interview rounds, which include the Personal Interview and an Extempore speaking component, are scheduled to commence on April 13, 2026.

Known as the "Red Building of Dreams" due to its exceptional return on investment, FMS Delhi follows a rigorous evaluation process that prioritizes sectional performance in the CAT 2025 exam. The shortlist was generated based on a composite score that weights Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation, and Quantitative Ability differently to ensure a balanced cohort. Shortlisted candidates are required to download their individual interview call letters from the FMS website, which will specify their exact date, time, and session slot for the rounds held at the North Campus in Delhi.

Composite Score Cut-offs for 2026 Shortlisting

The shortlisting for the 2026 session was conducted using a Weighted CAT 2025 score. Unlike many other top B-schools that use overall percentiles, FMS assigns a 40% weightage to VARC, and 30% each to DILR and QA. This system heavily favors candidates with strong verbal and reading comprehension skills. Additionally, all women candidates received an extra 5 marks in their composite score calculation to promote gender diversity within the batch.

The following table outlines the composite score cut-offs across different categories for the 2026-28 admission cycle:

Final Selection Criteria and Weightage

For the candidates appearing in the PI rounds starting April 13, the final merit list will be prepared by combining their CAT performance with their performance in the interview stages and their past academic records. The PI round is particularly significant because it carries 30% of the total weightage when combined with the Statement of Purpose (SOP) discussion and the Extempore round.

  • Weighted CAT 2025 Score: 50%
  • Class 10 Marks: 10% (10 marks for ≥75%; 5 marks for 60-75%)
  • Class 12 Marks: 10% (10 marks for ≥75%; 5 marks for 60-75%)
  • SOP Discussion: 10%
  • Personal Interview (PI): 15%
  • Extempore Speaking: 5%
  • Gender Diversity: 5 marks (Additional marks for women candidates)

Mandatory Documents for the Interview

Shortlisted candidates must report to the FMS Delhi campus with a set of mandatory documents for verification. The institute has specified that all certificates must be self-attested, and failure to produce original documents during the interview session may lead to immediate disqualification from the admission process.

  1. Identity Proof: Valid Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or Driving License.
  2. Academic Records: Original and photocopies of Class 10, Class 12, and Graduation marksheets.
  3. CAT 2025 Scorecard: A printed copy of the official results.
  4. Date of Birth Proof: Class 10 certificate or a valid Birth Certificate.
  5. Category Certificates: Valid SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD certificates, if applicable.
  6. SOP Copy: A printed version of the Statement of Purpose submitted during registration.

Conclusion

The commencement of the Personal Interview rounds on April 13 marks the final hurdle for MBA aspirants aiming for a seat at FMS Delhi. With only 289 seats available for over 2,000 shortlisted candidates, the competition in the PI and Extempore rounds will be intense. Candidates should focus on their communication skills and current affairs knowledge, as the interview panel often emphasizes personality and situational awareness. Following the conclusion of all interview slots, FMS is expected to release the final merit list by the third week of May 2026, allowing for a July session start.
