The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has officially closed the registration window for the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test (AP ICET) 2026 without late fees. Following several deadline extensions, the final date for regular applications concluded yesterday, March 23, 2026. This entrance exam is the primary gateway for students seeking admission into MBA and MCA programs across universities and affiliated colleges in Andhra Pradesh for the 2026-27 academic session.

The registration process, which began on February 5, saw multiple revisions to its timeline to accommodate more applicants. Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, which is conducting the exam on behalf of APSCHE, has now transitioned the portal to the late fee phase. Candidates who missed the initial deadline still have the opportunity to submit their applications, provided they pay the additional charges prescribed for different time windows over the coming weeks.

Late Fee Structure and Extended Windows

With the regular registration period over, a tiered late fee system is now in effect. Starting today, March 24, candidates must pay a late fee of ₹1,000 in addition to the standard registration fee. This specific window will remain open for a brief three-day period. As the exam date approaches, the late fee amount increases significantly to discourage last-minute filings and ensure administrative readiness for the computer-based test.

The highest penalty reaches ₹10,000 for applications submitted in the final week before the correction window opens. This structured approach allows the council to manage the high volume of applicants while maintaining a strict schedule for center allocation and hall ticket generation. All payments must be made through the official website using online payment methods.

Late Fee CategoryApplication PeriodTotal Fee (Approx. for General)
No Late FeeClosed (March 23)₹650

₹4,000 Late FeeMarch 30 – April 1₹4,650
₹10,000 Late FeeApril 2 – April 5₹10,650

Eligibility and Exam Pattern Overview

The eligibility criteria for AP ICET 2026 remain consistent with previous cycles. For MBA aspirants, a recognized bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories) is mandatory. MCA candidates must also have studied Mathematics at the Intermediate or Degree level. Students currently in their final year of graduation are eligible to apply, provided they submit their passing certificates during the counseling phase later this year.

The examination is scheduled for May 2, 2026, and will be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format across 25 districts. The test consists of 200 multiple-choice questions divided into three sections: Analytical Ability, Mathematical Ability, and Communication Ability. There is no negative marking, and the total duration for the exam is 150 minutes.

  • Exam Sections: Analytical (75 Qs), Mathematical (55 Qs), Communication (70 Qs).
  • Qualifying Marks: 25% (50 out of 200) for General/BC; no minimum for SC/ST.
  • Medium of Test: English and Telugu (except for Communication Ability).
  • Exam Shifts: Morning (9:00 AM) and Afternoon (2:00 PM).

Correction Window and Admit Card Timeline

Once the late registration phase concludes on April 5, APSCHE will provide a one-day window for application corrections. On April 6, 2026, registered candidates can log in to edit specific details in their submitted forms, such as qualifying exam information or local status. However, major fields like the candidate's name and test center preferences may not be editable during this period.

Hall tickets are expected to be available for download starting April 15, 2026. Candidates must use their registration number and date of birth to access their admit cards. Following the exam on May 2, the preliminary answer key will be released on May 5, allowing students to raise objections before the final results and ranks are declared on May 16, 2026.

Conclusion

The closure of the regular registration window for AP ICET 2026 transitions the admission cycle into its final preparatory phase. With the late fee period active from March 24, remaining aspirants must ensure they complete their filings to avoid even higher penalties. The strict adherence to the upcoming correction and admit card deadlines will be essential for the smooth conduct of the exam on May 2. As the process moves forward, candidates are encouraged to focus on the three core sections of the syllabus to secure a high merit rank for the July counseling sessions.
