Engineering aspirants can now apply online at admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in for admission to the Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses. The Session 1 examination is scheduled for April 15–17, 2026. The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani has officially opened the registration window for the BITSAT 2026. As of February 1, the portal has seen a consistent influx of candidates finalizing their forms for the first session of this highly competitive entrance examination. The institute has reiterated that the current application cycle, which began on December 15, is the primary window for those wishing to secure their preferred exam slots for the April dates.

  • Final Deadline: The last date to complete the online registration for Session 1 (or both sessions) is March 16, 2026.
  • Aggregated Marks: Aspirants must have a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in their Class 12 exams.
  • Individual Benchmarks: A minimum of 60% marks in each of the core subjects individually is required to maintain eligibility.
  • Direct Admission: Board toppers from recognized central and state boards in India are eligible for direct admission, bypassing the examination if they meet the basic criteria.

Dual-Session Examination Schedule and Pattern

The BITSAT 2026 will be conducted in two distinct sessions to offer candidates the flexibility to improve their scores. According to the official 2026-27 schedule, the higher of the two scores will be considered for the final merit list for those who choose to appear in both sessions. The test remains a fully computer-based examination featuring 130 questions to be solved within a three-hour duration.

Conclusion

As the February timeline progresses, the focus for many candidates remains on meeting the strict eligibility requirements and completing the multi-step online application process. BITS Pilani has clarified that the removal of certain re-attempt clauses means only those passing Class 12 in 2025 or appearing in 2026 are generally qualified. With the March 16 deadline approaching, aspirants should double-check their uploaded documents and payment status on the official portal to ensure their registration is confirmed for the upcoming April examination window.
