The Directorate of Admission for Students Abroad (DASA) has recently announced the results for the second round of seat allotment for the DASA and CSAB-Special 2025 admissions. This year, the two admission schemes have been merged, simplifying the process for international students seeking admission to premier engineering colleges in India. The coordination of the DASA 2025 scheme is being handled by the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela.

In a significant change for the 2025 academic year, DASA and CSAB-Special rounds are being conducted through a single, unified system. This aims to streamline the application process for Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) students. Admission to participating institutes, which include NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions, is based on a candidate's JEE Main 2025 rank. There is no longer a requirement for SAT scores.

DASA 2025 Cutoff Trends and Key Dates

The DASA 2025 cutoffs are released as opening and closing ranks for each participating institute and course. The first two rounds of seat allotment have concluded, and students who have been allocated a seat have to complete the online reporting process, which includes paying the Institute Admission Fee and uploading necessary documents.

For aspirants who have not yet secured a seat or are looking for an upgrade, the third round of seat allotment results is scheduled to be announced on August 19, 2025. This is a crucial opportunity to secure a seat in your preferred branch and college.

  • Round 1 Seat Allotment Result: August 9, 2025
  • Round 2 Seat Allotment Result: August 14, 2025
  • Round 3 Seat Allotment Result: August 19, 2025

Aspirants must keep a close eye on the official portal for all updates and to complete the required steps within the specified deadlines. Physical reporting at the allotted institutes will be held from August 20 to August 23, 2025.

What to Do After Seat Allotment

After a seat is allotted, candidates are given options to either Accept the current seat, Accept & Upgrade for a chance at a better preference in the next round, or Decline the seat. It is important to make a choice within the given timeframe to continue in the counselling process. Failure to respond can lead to the cancellation of your provisional seat.
