As the CLAT 2025 exam approaches, candidates should familiarize themselves with essential instructions, including reporting times, permitted items, and dress code to ensure a smooth examination experience on December 1, 2024.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 is set to take place on December 1, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. As candidates prepare for this crucial examination, the Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLUs) has released important guidelines and updates to ensure a smooth testing experience.

Key Guidelines for Exam Day

Reporting and Entry Times

  • Entry Window: Candidates will be allowed to enter the examination center starting at 1:00 PM.
  • Seating Requirement: By 1:30 PM, all candidates must be seated in their designated areas.
  • Final Entry Cut-off: No candidates will be permitted entry after 2:15 PM. Once inside, candidates cannot leave the exam hall until the test concludes at 4:00 PM.

Exam Duration

  • The standard duration for the exam is 2 hours, while candidates with disabilities (PwD/SAP) will have an extended time of 2 hours and 40 minutes, finishing at 4:40 PM.

Important Documents to Bring

Candidates must ensure they carry the following documents:

  • Admit Card: Must be signed by the invigilator.
  • Government-issued Photo ID: This is essential for identity verification.
  • If applicable, a Disability Certificate.

Permitted Items Inside the Exam Hall

Candidates are allowed to bring:

  • Black or blue ballpoint pens
  • A transparent water bottle
  • An analogue watch
  • Their government ID proof

Bags and other personal items are strictly prohibited within the exam premises.

Exam Format and Marking Scheme

The CLAT 2025 will consist of a total of 120 marks. The marking scheme is as follows:

  • Each correct answer awards 1 mark.
  • Each incorrect answer incurs a penalty of 0.25 marks.
  • Unanswered questions do not attract any penalties.

Schedule of Events on Exam Day

To help candidates manage their time effectively, here’s a brief outline of the bell timings during the exam:

  • 1:30 PM: Long bell - Entry into the test hall begins.
  • 1:50 PM: Short bell - Distribution of sealed envelopes and important instructions.
  • 2:00 PM: Long bell - The exam commences.
  • 2:15 PM: Short bell - Final entry cut-off.
  • Subsequent short bells will indicate progress through the exam duration until the final bell at 4:00 PM, signaling the end of the test.

Final Reminders

Candidates are advised to remain vigilant against any form of malpractice, which could lead to immediate disqualification.
