The MHT CET 2026 registration window for PCM and PCB groups officially closes today, marking the end of the initial application phase for Maharashtra engineering aspirants

Today, February 24, 2026, marks a major milestone for students in Maharashtra as the MHT CET 2026 registration window officially closes. For the past few weeks, the State Common Entrance Test Cell has allowed students to sign up for the Engineering (PCM) and Pharmacy (PCB) entrance tests. While today is the last day to apply without any extra charges, the board has provided a small relief for those who missed out. Students can still submit their Application forms between February 25 and February 27, but they will have to pay a late fee of 500 rupees. This final extension is the last chance for any Candidate to enter the race for top colleges like COEP and VJTI.

With the registration part almost over, the focus now shifts to the next important steps. The CET Cell has announced that the first session of the MHT CET 2026 will begin on April 11. Because this is a very large exam involving lakhs of students, the authorities are working hard to ensure the Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers are ready. Students are advised to keep their login IDs and passwords safe, as they will need them for the Correction window and to download their hall tickets in the coming weeks.

1. Application Correction and Late Fee Details

Even if you have submitted your form, you must stay alert for the "Correction Window" which allows you to fix small mistakes.

  • Late Registration: If you missed today's deadline, you can still apply on the Official MAHACET Portal until February 27 by paying the additional late fee.
  • Edit Facility: The Correction window is expected to open in March. During this time, you can change your name, photo, or signature if they were uploaded incorrectly.
  • One-Time Edit: Remember that the board usually only allows you to edit your Application once. After you hit "Submit" in the correction window, the data is locked forever.
  • Fields You Can't Change: Usually, you cannot change your registered email ID or mobile number, so make sure those are active and working.
  • Fee Status: Always check your payment status on the dashboard. If the payment failed, your Application will not be considered for the exam.

2. Important Dates for Admit Cards and Exams

Every Candidate must mark their calendars for the upcoming schedule to avoid missing the actual test dates.

  • Admit Card Release: The hall tickets are expected to be available for download in early April. You will need your application number and date of birth to get it.
  • PCM Group Dates: The Engineering stream (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) exams are scheduled to take place from April 11 to April 19, 2026.
  • PCB Group Dates: The Pharmacy and Agriculture stream (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) exams will follow from April 21 to April 26, 2026.
  • Exam Shifts: The test is held in two shifts: the morning shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the afternoon shift from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
  • Official Notification: For the exact date of your shift, you must check the CET Cell Notifications page regularly.

3. Final Preparation and Exam Day Rules

Since the MHT CET 2026 is an online exam, you should spend the next few weeks getting comfortable with the digital format.

  • Practice Mock Tests: The state cell provides free mock tests on their website. Use them to understand how to move between questions on a computer screen.
  • Syllabus Focus: The exam covers 20% of the Class 11 syllabus and 80% of the Class 12 syllabus from the Maharashtra State Board.
  • Mandatory Documents: On the day of the exam, you must carry a printed copy of your admit card and an original photo ID like an Aadhaar Card.
  • No Negative Marks: Similar to other state tests, there is no negative marking here. A Candidate should try to solve every question to maximize their score.
  • Score Normalization: Since the exam happens in many shifts, the board uses a "Normalization" process to make sure the results are fair for everyone.

Conclusion

The closing of the MHT CET 2026 registration marks the start of a very busy season for students. While the initial Application phase is ending, the real work of checking for errors in the Correction window and downloading the admit card is just beginning. Every Candidate should ensure they have a stable internet connection when the hall tickets are released to avoid server issues. Focus on your revision now, especially the high-weightage topics in Mathematics and Physics. By staying organized and following the official links, you can ensure that your journey to a top engineering or pharmacy college in Maharashtra is successful and stress-free.
