CAT 2025 Registration Window is Now Closed

With the registration hurdle crossed, the intense phase of the CAT journey has begun. Aspirants should treat the period leading up to the November 30, 2025 exam date—which will be conducted in three separate slots—as the most crucial phase. Effective preparation at this stage involves strategic planning, rigorous practice, and mental conditioning.

Key takeaway for registered candidates: The next major date to mark is the Admit Card download window, scheduled to open on November 5, 2025. Ensure your registered email and phone number are active, as IIM Kozhikode will communicate crucial updates and download links through these channels. The admit card is mandatory for entry into the examination hall, and checking all details, including your photo, signature, and assigned test center, is vital as soon as it is released.

Shifting Gears: From Application to Strategy

The two months between the registration closure and the exam date should be utilized to fine-tune your preparation strategy.

1. Mock Test Analysis: This is the time to prioritize taking and meticulously analyzing a high volume of full-length mock tests. Focus not just on your score, but on identifying persistent weak areas, time management inconsistencies, and errors in conceptual application across the three sections: Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA).
2. Revision and Concept Clarity: Dedicate time for quick and thorough revision of core concepts. For the QA section, revisit fundamental theorems and formulas. For VARC, practice different question types like para jumbles and summary questions. The DILR section requires constant exposure to new, unconventional sets to improve problem-solving speed under pressure.
3. Stress Management: Maintaining a positive and focused mindset is as important as academic preparation. The pressure can be immense, but adopting a disciplined study schedule, incorporating short breaks, and ensuring adequate sleep will optimize your performance on exam day.

Beyond CAT: Preparing for the Next Phase

While CAT 2025 is the immediate goal, successful candidates must also be ready for the subsequent stages of the MBA selection process: the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI) rounds, which are expected to commence in early 2026 after the results are declared.

Start working on:

• Current Affairs and General Knowledge: Top B-schools test your awareness of national and global business, economic, and political events.
• Clear Career Goals: Articulate your 'Why MBA?' and 'Why this B-School?' with clarity and conviction, preparing a strong foundation for your PI.

Remember to keep your preparation focused for the main event on November 30, 2025. The hard work you put in over the next two months will determine your admission to the top management institutes in the country.
