CAT 2025 Registration Deadline Nears, Urging Aspirants to Start Mocks
Time is running out for management aspirants! The CAT 2025 registration window closes on September 13. As the deadline approaches, it's also the perfect time to start your mock test practice.

The registration window for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 is set to close on September 13, 2025, and with the deadline just a little over a week away, IIMs have issued a final call for all aspiring candidates. This period is not only about completing your application but also about intensifying your preparation, as September is widely considered the ideal month to begin rigorous mock test practice.
The CAT exam, scheduled for November 30, 2025, is the primary gateway to the 21 IIMs and over 1,300 top business schools across India. Securing a spot in one of these prestigious institutions begins with a timely and complete application.
Aspirant Checklist: The Final Days of Registration
To avoid any last-minute stress, technical issues, or missing the opportunity altogether, here’s a quick checklist for aspirants:
- Final Date: Remember that the last date to register is September 13, 2025. Do not wait until the final hour.
- Fee Payment: The registration fee is INR 2,600 for General and NC-OBC candidates, and INR 1,300 for SC, ST, and PwD categories. Ensure the payment is successful before the deadline.
- Required Documents: Have a scanned passport-size photograph, signature, and, if applicable, your category certificate ready to upload.
You can complete your application on the official CAT website, iimcat.ac.in.
September: The Month for Mock Tests
With the exam less than three months away, the focus for serious aspirants shifts from syllabus completion to strategic preparation through mock tests. This is a critical step to boost your scores and improve your confidence.
- Why Mocks Are Important: Mock tests simulate the actual exam environment and are essential for mastering time management, identifying your strengths and weaknesses, and building the necessary stamina for the two-hour test.
- Practice with Purpose: While the official CAT mock test is expected to be released closer to the exam date (around November), you should start practicing with third-party mock tests now. Aim to take a mock test at least once a week to monitor your progress and fine-tune your strategy for the Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA) sections.
