The Directorate of Medical Education, Assam has activated online registration for NEET PG 2026 Round 1 counselling. The official DME page posted the registration link on 21 October 2026, and the published schedule keeps registration open through 25 October.
This process concerns 50% postgraduate state-quota seats in Assam government medical colleges and B.B.C.I., Guwahati. It is separate from MCC’s All India Quota counselling, and registration does not by itself confirm a seat.
Assam NEET PG Round 1 dates
| Stage | Published schedule |
|---|---|
| Online registration | 21–25 October 2026; closing-minute discrepancy explained below |
| Choice filling | 26–28 October, up to 5 PM |
| Choice locking | 28 October, 4 PM–11:55 PM |
| Allotment processing | 29–31 October |
| Provisional allotment for viewing | 1 November |
| Reviewed college/subject-wise provisional selection and admission instructions | 2 November |
| Reporting and joining | 9–10 November |
The two November entries are not interchangeable. The 1 November stage is for viewing a provisional allotment; candidates should follow the reviewed selection and admission instructions scheduled for 2 November before acting on the offer.
Use the official registration route
Begin from DME Assam’s Round 1 registration page. Use the registration button provided there rather than a link forwarded in a group.
Before entering details, check that your name and NEET PG roll number appear in the current state merit material. The official admission-notice page also carries subsequent inclusion notices, so do not rely only on an older download.
Keep your NEET PG record, registration details, category and service documents, and any applicable inclusion notice together. If a field differs from your records, retain evidence of the mismatch and use the authority’s official route instead of guessing a correction.
Do not wait for the disputed final minute
The governing notice contains a four-minute discrepancy for the registration cutoff on 25 October. Its paragraph states 11:55 PM, while the schedule table states 11:59 PM.
Until DME Assam issues a clarification, treat 11:55 PM as the practical latest limit and submit much earlier. The additional four minutes are not confirmed here as safely available. A payment or submission attempt near midnight can also leave too little time to resolve a failed status.
Save proof and prepare choices separately
After registration, confirm that the portal records a successful submission. Download the acknowledgement and retain payment evidence or transaction details where applicable. A bank debit alone should not be treated as proof that the counselling form was accepted.
Choice filling begins on 26 October. Prepare a preference order based on courses and institutions you would genuinely join, then recheck it before locking. Do not confuse merely saving choices with completing the locking step scheduled for 28 October.
Registration, merit inclusion, choice submission, allotment, and joining are separate stages. Missing a later stage can still affect participation even after the first form is completed.
The immediate action is to use the official DME registration page, submit well before the uncertain closing minute, and keep a complete application record. Continue checking DME Assam for a corrigendum, seat information, and the round-specific result. For further verified developments, follow Only Education’s medical news.
