Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has officially launched the registration process for the Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination (AEEE) 2026. This is the critical first step for admission into its highly-ranked B.Tech programs across multiple campuses. Aspirants can apply online through the official portal, aeee.amrita.edu, with the Phase 1 registration deadline set for January 15, 2026. Crucially, admission is also available through JEE Main 2026 percentile, and candidates can opt for both routes. This comprehensive guide covers the eligibility, exam pattern, and the steps to secure your application before the deadline.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, recognized as an Institution of Eminence by the Government of India, has opened the application window for its annual B.Tech. entrance examination, the Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination (AEEE) 2026. The launch of registration on October 29, 2025, marks the beginning of the race for coveted engineering seats in one of India's leading private universities. The AEEE is the primary gateway for admissions, but the university offers flexibility by accepting scores from the JEE Main 2026 percentile as well.

The AEEE 2026 examination will be conducted in two separate phases—Phase 1 tentatively scheduled from January 29 to February 1, 2026, and Phase 2 expected in April 2026. This dual-phase system allows candidates to maximize their preparation and potentially improve their score. All aspiring engineers must complete the strictly online registration process via the Amrita Online Application Portal (AOAP) on the official website, aeee.amrita.edu, ensuring all details are accurate, especially before the Phase 1 deadline of January 15, 2026.

Step-by-Step AEEE 2026 Online Application Process

The entire registration for AEEE 2026 is an online-only process. Candidates must meticulously follow the steps to ensure a successful submission and avoid application rejection.

  • Initial Registration and Credential Generation:
    • Visit the official AEEE portal: aeee.amrita.edu.
    • Click on “Register Now” and provide your name (as per Class 10 records), date of birth, a valid email ID, and an active mobile number.
    • Complete the OTP verification to receive your unique Application Number/ID and password.
  • Detailed Form Filling and Document Uploads:
    • Log in using the generated credentials to access the detailed application form.
    • Personal & Contact Information: Fill in your address, nationality, category, and Aadhaar details accurately.
    • Academic Details: Enter your Class 10 and Class 12 (or equivalent) marks. Candidates appearing in 2026 should mark their status accordingly.
    • Upload Scanned Images: Upload a recent, clear passport-size photograph and your scanned signature strictly adhering to the specified file size and format (usually .jpg).
  • Admission Channel Selection and Fee Payment:
    • Choose Admission Mode: Candidates must select their preferred admission channel: AEEE only, JEE Main only (Percentile based), or Both. Choosing both is highly recommended as it doubles the admission chances.
    • Test City Selection: If opting for AEEE, mandatorily select three preferred exam cities for the Computer Based Test (CBT).
    • Application Fee: The non-refundable fee is typically ₹1,300 for AEEE or AEEE + JEE Main. Pay the fee online via credit card, debit card, or net banking.

AEEE 2026: Eligibility and Exam Structure Breakdown

To qualify for the B.Tech. programs, candidates must meet specific academic criteria, and they should be well-acquainted with the structure of the entrance exam.

  • Mandatory Eligibility Criteria:
    • Academic Qualification: Must have passed or be appearing for the Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
    • Minimum Marks Requirement: Candidates must secure a minimum 60% aggregate of marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (PCM) combined, and not less than 55% marks in each of these three subjects individually.
    • Age Limit: Candidates must be born on or after July 1, 2004, and on or before June 30, 2010, to be eligible for AEEE 2026.
  • AEEE 2026 Exam Pattern (CBT Mode):
    • Duration: 150 minutes (2.5 hours).
    • Total Questions: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
    • Sectional Breakup:
      • Mathematics: 40 Questions
      • Physics: 25 Questions
      • Chemistry: 20 Questions
      • Quantitative Aptitude & English: 15 Questions (10 Quant, 5 English)
    • Marking Scheme: Each correct answer carries 3 Marks. Crucially, there is a Negative Marking of -1 Mark for every incorrect answer, emphasizing accuracy during the test.

Dual Admission Route: AEEE vs. JEE Main Percentile

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham offers a significant advantage by providing two distinct pathways to B.Tech. admission, allowing candidates to leverage their best performance.

  • AEEE Rank Pathway:
    • Candidates who score high in the AEEE 2026 examination (Phase 1 or Phase 2) will be awarded an AEEE Rank. This rank is used in the Centralised Seat Allotment Process (CSAP) for admission to all campuses. Expected high percentile cutoffs are seen for CSE in top campuses, often requiring 95+ percentile.
  • JEE Main Percentile Pathway:
    • Candidates can choose to apply using their JEE Main 2026 Percentile Score instead of, or in addition to, their AEEE score.
    • This option is highly beneficial for students who perform exceptionally well in the national-level JEE Main but might face scheduling conflicts with the AEEE dates.
    • Scholarships: Scholarships are awarded to top performers based on either their AEEE Rank OR their JEE Main Percentile, rewarding merit across both entrance exams.
  • The Best Approach: It is strongly recommended to apply for both AEEE and JEE Main routes by selecting the combined option during the application process. This ensures maximum opportunities for securing a seat and maximizing scholarship eligibility across Amrita's eight campuses.

Conclusion

The launch of the AEEE 2026 registration is the starting line for a high-potential engineering career. With the Phase 1 registration closing on January 15, 2026, time is limited. Aspiring students must act fast to complete their registration on aeee.amrita.edu, verify the strict eligibility criteria, and choose the highly advantageous Dual Admission Channel (AEEE + JEE Main). Diligent preparation aligned with the AEEE's 150-minute exam pattern is now paramount to achieving a top rank and securing admission into the prestigious B.Tech. programs at Amrita.
