The application phase for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026, the mandatory entrance exam for admission to the prestigious National Law University (NLU), Delhi, has officially concluded. The registration window for the B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., and Ph.D. programmes closed definitively on November 13, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Following this closure, the brief window for application fee payment and corrections ended early on November 14, 2025, at 8:00 AM, finalizing the candidate pool for this year's highly competitive examination.

Aspirants who successfully registered and completed all necessary formalities must now pivot their focus entirely to intensive study, as the AILET 2026 exam date is set for Sunday, December 14, 2025.

Final Deadlines Confirmed

The NLU Delhi administration had previously extended the application deadline, offering a last chance to prospective law aspirants. The finality of the recent deadlines underscores the transition from the administrative phase to the examination phase:

EventFinal Deadline
Online Registration Closing DateNovember 13, 2025 (11:59 PM)
Application Fee Payment DeadlineNovember 14, 2025 (8:00 AM)
Application Correction Window EndNovember 14, 2025 (8:00 AM)

Candidates who registered but had pending fee payments had until the early morning of November 14 to complete the transaction. Similarly, the form correction facility, which allowed editing of specific details like the exam city preference, photograph, scanned signature, and personal details (name, parent’s name, address), also closed at 8:00 AM on November 14. No further opportunity for any administrative changes will be granted.

Roadmap to AILET 2026: The Final Push

With the administrative hurdle cleared, the immediate focus for candidates must be on maximizing their performance in the upcoming examination. The AILET 2026 is scheduled to be held in offline (pen-and-paper) mode from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on December 14, 2025.

  1. Admit Card Release: The National Law University Delhi is expected to release the AILET 2026 Admit Cards around November 30, 2025. This is a mandatory document for appearing in the exam and will contain the allotted test centre details. Aspirants should log in to their registered account on the NLU Delhi website to download and print the admit card as soon as it is released.
  2. Mock Tests and Analysis: The next 30 days should be dedicated to rigorous practice. Candidates must attempt a high number of full-length AILET mock tests under timed conditions, ensuring they strictly adhere to the updated exam pattern, which includes sections like English Language, Current Affairs & General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning. Crucially, detailed analysis of each mock test is essential to identify weak areas and improve time management.
  3. Revision Strategy: Focus on revising core concepts, particularly in General Knowledge and Current Affairs, and practice complex passages in English and Logical Reasoning. Since the exam date is now set, there should be no dilution of focus.
