Only those candidates who passed Stage I with at least 50% marks are eligible for the departmental assessment. The final merit list will be decided based on the scores from Stage I, which is worth 80 marks, and Stage II, which is worth 20 marks. Candidates must stay eligible throughout the entire selection process. If a candidate does not appear for the assessment, they will be disqualified from participating in any further stages of the selection. There will be no chance for grace marks or a separate chance to take the assessment. Once the marks are awarded, they are final and cannot be challenged later.
How Can I Prepare for INI SS Stage II Departmental Assessment?
Candidates should focus on understanding clinical knowledge and concepts related to their department.
The assessment involves an interactive session conducted through video conferencing to evaluate the candidate's understanding of their specialty. Studying clinical guidelines, case studies, and key topics relevant to the department will help in preparing effectively for the exam. Practicing through mock interviews and guided practice sessions with mentors can help build confidence. It is also helpful for candidates to prepare answers to common questions that may come up during the assessment. This will help them manage their time better during the actual exam. Critical Information Regarding Video Conferencing Assessment
The assessment will be conducted entirely through video conferencing
Candidates should ensure they have a stable internet connection and choose a quiet place to sit during the assessment. They must also have a working webcam, microphone, and earphones to communicate clearly with the assessment panel. Candidates should check their email for details about the platform, schedule, and location specific to their department. The Institute of Medical Sciences will not usually provide an alternative date or reschedule the assessment, except in very rare cases. It is recommended that candidates join the video call at least five minutes before their assigned time.
What to Verify Before the Assessment Day
Candidates should confirm their registration roll number, department name, and assessment date from the official notification. They should also ensure that the contact details they provided to AIIMS during their application are current and accessible. It is advisable to download and save the assessment schedule PDF from the AIIMS official website. Additionally, candidates should keep an eye on their emails for any messages from their respective departments. They should also perform a test run of their device, internet connection, webcam, microphone, and earphones before the assessment day.
What Lies Ahead for the Aspiring Students
As soon as the Departmental Assessment is completed, AIIMS will prepare the final merit list by combining the scores from Stage I and Stage II. Then, the results will be announced on the official AIIMS website as per the planned schedule. The students who are shortlisted will then proceed with the online seat allotment process based on their merit ranking and preferences. It is compulsory for these shortlisted students to go through the counseling process to secure their admission. The counseling schedule will be shared separately by the institute once the results are released.
