The engineering admission cycle for the upcoming academic year has reached a pivotal moment as Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham officially extended the registration deadline for AEEE 2026 Phase 1. Originally set to conclude earlier, the portal will remained active until January 15, 2026. This decision comes as a relief to thousands of aspirants balancing board exam preparations with entrance test schedules. As one of the top-ranked private universities in India, Amrita’s multi-campus B.Tech programs remain a primary target for students seeking high-tier placements and research opportunities.

The extension shifts the entire operational timeline for Phase 1, allowing candidates more time to finalize their city preferences and document uploads. Aspirants must note that while the registration window is open, the subsequent processes like slot booking follow a tight sequence.

  • Final Registration Date: The portal at aeee.amrita.edu closed on January 15, 2026.
  • Slot Booking Window: Candidates selected their exam dates and timings starting January 10, 2026.
  • Admit Card Release: Hall tickets will be generated immediately after slot booking in the third week of January.
  • Exam Window: Phase 1 will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) from January 29 to February 1, 2026.

Mandatory Eligibility and Revised Exam Pattern

Aspirants must ensure they satisfy the university's strict academic criteria before completing the fee payment of ₹1,300. This year, the university has also introduced a revised assessment structure to include quantitative aptitude, making it a five-section paper.

  • Academic Cut-off: A minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) is required.
  • Subject Minimums: Students must have secured at least 50% marks individually in each PCM subject.
  • New Paper Structure: The exam now features 100 questions to be solved in 150 minutes, covering PCM, English, and a new Quantitative Aptitude section.
  • Dual-Phase Benefit: Students unsatisfied with Phase 1 results can appear for Phase 2 in April 2026 for a nominal fee of ₹600.

Strategic Integration with JEE Main 2026

For many, AEEE serves as a critical backup or parallel track to the JEE Main. Amrita University allocates 30% of its seats specifically for candidates applying through JEE Main scores. Aspirants have the flexibility to apply through AEEE only, JEE Main only, or both, ensuring the best possible chance of securing a seat in preferred branches like AI or Computer Science.

  • Score Consideration: The university considers the highest score if a candidate appears for both AEEE phases.
  • Counselling (CSAP): Centralized Seat Allotment is expected to commence in May 2026 after the declaration of Phase 2 ranks.

In conclusion, this extension provides a vital window for students to refine their applications and strategy. With the addition of the aptitude section, candidates should pivot their revision to include mental ability alongside core sciences.
