The admission process for the B.Tech programs at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has officially commenced, with the release of the Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination (AEEE) 2026 online application form. Aspiring engineers can now register for the entrance test, which is mandatory for admission to all eight Amrita campuses across India.

The application window for Phase 1 of the AEEE 2026 exam is active, and candidates have until January 15, 2026, to complete their registration. The AEEE exam is a crucial step, as 70% of the seats are allotted based on AEEE scores, while the remaining 30% are filled using JEE Main ranks.

Dual-Phase Examination and Best Score Advantage

Amrita University offers students the flexibility of appearing in the entrance exam twice, in two separate phases:

Examination PhaseRegistration DeadlineExam DatesSlot Booking Starts
Phase 1January 15, 2026January 29 to February 1, 2026January 10, 2026
Phase 2To be announced (Tentative May 2026)April 25 to April 30, 2026April 2026 (Tentative)

A major benefit for aspirants is the 'Best Score' policy: Amrita will consider the higher score achieved across Phase 1 and Phase 2 for the final merit ranking and subsequent scholarship consideration. Candidates are strongly encouraged to utilize the Phase 1 attempt to gauge their preparation level.

Critical Steps for Phase 1 Registration

The application fee is typically ₹1,300 for candidates applying through AEEE or AEEE + JEE Main. Aspirants must strictly follow the official instructions and adhere to the key dates:

  1. Online Registration: Candidates must visit the official admissions portal, register with a valid email ID and mobile number, and fill in all personal, academic, and contact details.
  2. Select Admission Channel: Choose the mode of admission: AEEE only, JEE Main only (fee is reduced to ₹500), or Both.
  3. Pay Fees and Submit: Complete the application fee payment and finalize the form submission by the January 15 deadline.

Slot Booking Alert: While the application deadline is January 15, the Slot Booking for Phase 1 begins on January 10, 2026. This process is essential and operates on a First-Come, First-Served (FCFS) basis. Students must book their preferred exam date, time, and test centre immediately after the window opens to avoid travel inconvenience.

Understanding the Revised Exam Pattern

Aspirants need to align their study plan with the AEEE 2026 exam pattern. The Computer Based Test (CBT) is 150 minutes (2.5 hours) long, featuring 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs):

Subject SectionNumber of QuestionsMarks per QuestionTotal Marks
Mathematics40+3120
Physics25+375

Quantitative Aptitude10+330
