NMAT 2026 Registration Extended to October 25: Dates, Fees and Slot Booking
NMAT by GMAC has moved the last date for NMAT by GMAC 2026 registration and exam slot booking to Sunday, 25 October 2026, up from 10 October for registration and 22 October for scheduling.

Candidates who missed the original cut-off can still register. NMAT by GMAC has moved the last date for NMAT by GMAC 2026 registration and exam slot booking to Sunday, 25 October 2026, up from 10 October for registration and 22 October for scheduling. The exam itself is unaffected and is still delivered between 2 November and 20 December 2026.
This article covers the revised NMAT 2026 dates, what the exam costs, how to register and book a slot, and what the extension does not change.

What changed: the new NMAT 2026 deadlines
GMAC's official dates and fees page now shows 25 October 2026 as the end date for both registration and scheduling, which is the step where you pick a test centre, date and time. News reports put the earlier deadlines at 10 October for registration and 22 October for scheduling, though GMAC's own pages do not mention them.
The rest of the calendar is unchanged. Exams are delivered from 2 November to 20 December 2026, and rescheduling and retakes stay open until 17 December.
Event | Start | End |
| Registration | Thu, 20 Aug 2026 | Sun, 25 Oct 2026 |
| Scheduling (slot booking) | Thu, 20 Aug 2026 | Sun, 25 Oct 2026 |
| Rescheduling | Thu, 20 Aug 2026 | Thu, 17 Dec 2026 |
| Exam delivery | Mon, 2 Nov 2026 | Sun, 20 Dec 2026 |
| Retake registration. | Tue, 3 Nov 2026 | Thu, 17 Dec 2026 |
| Retake scheduling | Tue, 3 Nov 2026 | Thu, 17 Dec 2026 |
One detail is easy to miss. GMAC's table shows no closing time for 25 October, so do not assume the form and scheduler stay open until midnight. Finish well before the last day.
What NMAT 2026 costs
The extension has not changed the price. Test registration is INR 3,000 plus applicable taxes, and each retake costs the same. Rescheduling a booked slot costs INR 1,200 plus taxes, according to GMAC's fee list.
Your registration includes score reports for five schools. Each extra report costs INR 400 plus taxes. GMAC accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, debit cards, internet banking and Diners Club.
The tax-inclusive total appears at checkout, so go by that figure rather than a third-party estimate. Some older pages still list INR 2,800, which was the 2024 fee, so check the date on any fee you read elsewhere.

How to register and book your slot
Registration and slot booking are two separate steps, and you must pay before you can book, as the GMAC's register and schedule page explains.
Start by creating an NMAT account on the official NMAT page with a valid email address, then confirm it through the verification email. If the email does not arrive, check your junk folder.
Next, open the Candidate Dashboard and fill in the application form. Your name and date of birth must match your photo ID exactly. Choose the schools that should receive your score, and upload a recent photograph taken within the last six months that resembles you and your ID. This photo prints on your admit card.
Pay the exam fee and save the confirmation. Then return to the dashboard, click "Book Exam Slot" and choose "At Test Centre" as the exam mode. Pick your country, city, test centre, date and time, and confirm.
Slots are limited and given first come, first served, so book early if you want a specific city or date. For registration problems, GMAC lists nmatsupport@gmac.com.
Registering for NMAT is not applying to a B-school
The extension does not move any business school's own deadline. NMAT by GMAC says plainly that NMAT registration and B-school applications are separate, and that deadlines, eligibility and score-acceptance policies differ by institution.
NMIMS shows how this can bite. Its School of Business Management announced that MBA 2027 applicants must complete both NMAT registration and the NMIMS application by 10 October 2026. One education news report says NMIMS registration through NMAT closed on that date despite the extension. Confirm the current position on the NMIMS admission portal before you rely on either date.
The practical advice is to check every target school's official admission site for its application form, closing date, eligibility rules and minimum NMAT scores. GMAC says more than 58 B-schools in India accept NMAT scores, so a school that has closed does not mean every option has.

Retakes, rescheduling and your admit card
NMAT allows up to three attempts in one testing cycle, which runs from 1 July to 30 June. That means your first attempt plus up to two retakes.
After a valid score appears on your scorecard, you can book the next attempt immediately, but the exam date must be at least seven days later. If your status shows No Show, NDA Refused or Exam Incomplete, you can book a new slot 24 hours later. Retake registration and scheduling run from 3 to 17 December 2026, and each retake costs INR 3,000 plus taxes.
You can also move a booked slot until 17 December for INR 1,200 plus taxes.
Your admit card becomes available on the dashboard seven days before your booked exam date. Because candidates book different dates, there is no single release date for everyone. GMAC also says you see an unofficial score straight after the exam and can download the scorecard within 48 hours.
What to do before 25 October
If you have not registered, do it now and book your slot in the same sitting, since GMAC lists the same end date for both steps and publishes no closing time. Then check each target school's own deadline, because that is where the extension is least likely to help you.
