Woxsen University held its sixth Convocation, awarding qualifications to 1,198 students completing undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD-level courses spread across seven schools. Social psychologist Roy F. Baumeister, a widely respected figure in the field, attended as chief guest and received an honorary doctorate for his major impact on psychology and on insights into human conduct. For the Hyderabad institution, the event represented a fresh landmark, showcasing notable progress in research activity, international tie-ups, academic growth, and placement outcomes throughout the 2025–26 academic session.

Degrees Granted Through Seven Academic Schools

Graduates from the schools listed below were presented with degrees at the event:

The cohort included learners from bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral tracks spanning a wide range of subjects.

Honorary Doctorate Presented to Roy F. Baumeister

Woxsen University awarded an honorary doctorate to Roy F. Baumeister, professor emeritus at the University of Queensland and regarded as a foremost social psychologist internationally. In his remarks to the graduating group, Baumeister urged them to adopt new technologies while keeping their curiosity active. He told graduates to treat AI as an aid while preserving the capacity to challenge ideas, keep learning, and reason on their own. Underscoring the value of planning ahead, he asked students to hold to a five-year outlook yet remain flexible as the world shifts quickly.

Annual Report Points to Research Momentum

At the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor V. J. Byra Reddy delivered the Annual Report 2026, summarizing important accomplishments across the institution.

Key points included:

  • Over 655 published research works
  • Close to 70% of those papers placed in Q1 and Q2 journals
  • Partnerships with more than 190 universities across the globe
  • Sustained emphasis on innovation, global linkages, and cross-disciplinary research

The report indicated Woxsen University’s rising priority on strong research performance and worldwide academic participation.

Fresh Academic Offerings and Increased Capacity

The university also shared multiple academic updates designed to respond to shifting industry needs.

They include:

  1. Raising B.Arch intake from 40 seats to 80
  2. Starting a B.Sc. in Sports Science
  3. Rolling out an M.Tech focused on AI and machine learning
  4. Introducing an M.Des centred on product design innovation

These offerings are meant to give students targeted learning aligned with new technologies and upcoming career pathways.

Gold Medallists and High Academic Performers Recognised

The convocation acknowledged exceptional achievers and program leaders across several fields.

  • Korimi Meghana – B.Tech Gold Medal
  • Koukuntla Rishitha Reddy – BBA Financial Services Gold Medal

  • Kurinji V. S. – Fashion Design Gold Medal
  • M. Janani – Architecture topper
  • Sofia Villamarin Rodriguez – Liberal Arts and Humanities topper
  • Archi Tiwari – Science topper

During the function, the university honoured these students for outstanding academic performance.

Graduates Land Leading Placement Packages

Woxsen University additionally acknowledged those who obtained the highest placement offers across different programmes.

They included:

  1. Koukuntla Rishitha Reddy received the top placement offer from Warner Bros. Discovery.
  2. Sarah Hazel Philip of the MBA cohort secured the best offer from Silicon Labs.
  3. Gaddam Srikesh Reddy, from B.Tech, obtained a leading offer from Vivnovation.
  4. Pakeeru Sri Varsha in Interior Design joined Yula Construction.
  5. P. Keerthi and K. B. Shivani, both architecture graduates, obtained offers from APS Property Solutions.

The university pointed to these results as proof of solid industry connections and strong employability among graduates.
