How to apply for IIT JAM 2027
- Go to the JOAPS portal and register with your name, email, mobile number, country and password.
- Log in and open the application form.
- Select your test paper or papers.
- Upload your photograph, signature and required certificates.
- Pay the fee online.
- Download the confirmation page for your records.
Submit only one application. Duplicate forms can be rejected.

Documents and photo specifications
Candidates should keep these ready:
- Class 10 certificate showing date of birth
- A recent photograph and signature in the prescribed format
- Category certificate (OBC-NCL, EWS, SC or ST), if applicable
- Disability certificate, if applicable
Photograph: colour passport-style photo on a white or very light background, 3.5 cm wide by 4.5 cm high, JPEG/JPG, between 240×320 and 480×640 pixels. The face should be fully visible, with no dark or tinted glasses. [VERIFY against the brochure]
What happens after you apply
Check that your payment is confirmed and your application status shows as submitted. The correction window is expected to open on 10 November 2026 on a payment basis. About JAM 2027
JAM is a computer-based test held in two sessions on 14 February 2027. It covers seven test papers and is conducted in about 114 cities, according to Careers360. Admission to an IIT depends on the JAM rank, category, preferences and seats available, so a qualifying score alone does not guarantee a seat.
