The deadline for the prestigious Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) 2026 is fast approaching. Law aspirants must complete their two-part registration, including payment, by November 30, 2025. The application process requires the ₹2,250 non-refundable SLAT test fee (per attempt) and the mandatory ₹1,000 programme registration fee for each Symbiosis Law School (SLS) campus. Secure your chance to appear for one or both dual-phase exams on December 20 and December 28, 2025. Don't miss this crucial deadline to pursue integrated law programs at SLS Pune, Noida, Hyderabad, or Nagpur. Apply online now.

NLP Concept Illustration

The Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) 2026 is the mandatory entrance examination for admission to the highly respected five-year integrated law programs (BA LLB, BBA LLB, B.Com LLB) offered across the four premier campuses of Symbiosis Law Schools (SLS): Pune, Noida, Hyderabad, and Nagpur. As the current month progresses, the closing date for registration, November 30, 2025, marks the final countdown for thousands of law aspirants aiming for a seat in these institutions.

  • Final Registration Deadline: The last date for online registration and payment for SLAT 2026 is November 30, 2025 (Sunday). This is a critical and non-extendable deadline. Candidates are strongly advised to complete their entire application, including both fee components, on the official website (slat-test.org) well in advance to prevent any last-minute technical difficulties.
  • Dual-Attempt Examination: SLAT 2026 offers a significant strategic advantage by being held on two separate dates in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format:
    • SLAT Test 01: December 20, 2025 (Saturday)
    • SLAT Test 02: December 28, 2025 (Sunday)
  • Best Score Consideration: Aspirants can choose to appear for one or both test dates. The Symbiosis International (Deemed University) will automatically consider the higher score achieved across the two attempts for the final percentile calculation and merit list preparation, providing a valuable buffer against unexpected poor performance on one day.
  • Admit Card and Result Dates: The Admit Card for Test 01 will be released on December 11, 2025, and for Test 02 on December 18, 2025. The consolidated result for SLAT 2026 is scheduled for announcement on January 15, 2026.

Mandatory Two-Part Fee Structure and Payment Details

A common source of error for applicants is misunderstanding the two-component fee structure, which requires two separate payments to fully secure a candidacy. Both fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Failure to pay either part, especially the Programme Registration Fee for a specific campus, means the candidate will not be considered for admission to that campus, regardless of their SLAT score.

  • Part I: SLAT Test Registration Fee:
    • Amount: ₹2,250 per test (plus applicable taxes).
    • This is the fee required solely to appear for the SLAT entrance examination. If a candidate opts to leverage the dual-attempt option by taking both Test 01 and Test 02, they must pay this fee twice, totaling ₹4,500 for the entrance exam.
  • Part II: Programme Registration Fee (Per Campus):
    • Amount: ₹1,000 per program/campus (plus applicable taxes).
    • This is an additional, mandatory fee required for applying to each specific Symbiosis Law School (SLS) campus. For example, a candidate applying to SLS Pune, SLS Noida, and SLS Hyderabad would need to pay ₹3,000 (₹1,000 x 3) for this component.
  • Payment Modes: Fees can be submitted online via Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking. Candidates also have the option of paying via a Demand Draft (DD) in favour of the "Symbiosis Test Secretariat" payable at Pune. The DD must reach the Symbiosis Test Secretariat office by 3:00 PM on November 30, 2025.

Example Fee Calculation: An aspirant taking both SLAT tests and applying to three SLS campuses (e.g., Pune, Noida, and Hyderabad) would incur a total payment of: (₹2,250 Test Fee \times 2 Attempts) + (₹1,000 Programme Fee \times 3 Campuses) = ₹7,500 (plus applicable taxes).

Exam Pattern, Eligibility, and Last-Minute Preparation

The SLAT examination is known for its speed and accuracy requirements, with a concise structure that tests fundamental skills over a short duration. Understanding the pattern is the key to final-stage preparation.

SLAT 2026 Exam Structure

  • Format: Computer-Based Test (CBT).
  • Duration: 60 Minutes (1 hour).
  • Questions: 60 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark for every correct answer. Crucially, there is no negative marking, encouraging candidates to attempt all questions.
  • Sections: The paper is divided into five sections, each carrying 12 marks: Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and General Knowledge.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Standard XII (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Minimum Marks: A minimum of 45% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade) is required for the General Category.
  • Relaxation: A relaxation is provided for SC/ST candidates, who require a minimum of 40% aggregate marks.
  • Appearing Candidates: Students appearing for their Class 12 exams in 2026 are also eligible to apply.
  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for the SLAT examination.

Final Preparation Tactics

  • Master the Time Constraint: The one-minute-per-question constraint means speed and rapid mental processing are paramount. Focus the majority of your final preparation time on taking and meticulously analyzing full-length, timed mock tests.
  • Leverage No Negative Marking: Train yourself to attempt all 60 questions within the 60 minutes. Even educated guesses can yield marks due to the absence of negative marking.
  • Current Affairs Focus: Revise the static General Knowledge syllabus and pay special attention to Current Affairs from the last 8-10 months, particularly legal and constitutional developments.

Conclusion

The opportunity to secure admission into the esteemed Symbiosis Law Schools through SLAT 2026 is now contingent on meeting the November 30, 2025 registration deadline. Aspirants must ensure that both the mandatory ₹2,250 SLAT Test Fee (per attempt) and the ₹1,000 Programme Fee (per campus) are successfully submitted. By utilizing the strategic dual-attempt option and dedicating the remaining time to focused, timed practice, candidates can significantly enhance their prospects for the December 20 and December 28 examinations and take the decisive step towards a rewarding legal career.
