The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has officially commenced the online registration process for Round 2 of the NEET UG 2025 counselling. This crucial phase is a significant opportunity for medical and dental aspirants seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses in state government and private colleges. The registration portal, which went live yesterday, will remain open until midnight on August 29, 2025.

The second round is particularly important as it includes all the seats that have become vacant after the completion of Round 1. This provides a fresh chance for candidates who did not secure a seat in the first round to participate in the seat allotment process.

Important Dates and Key Highlights

Aspirants must strictly adhere to the following schedule to ensure their participation in this round:

  • Registration and Fee Payment: Today, August 28, is a key window for all eligible candidates to register and pay the required fees. The registration will close at midnight on August 29, 2025.
  • Choice Filling and Locking: The online choice-filling and locking process is scheduled to take place from September 1 to September 3, 2025. Candidates are strongly advised to meticulously fill in their choices based on the updated seat matrix and their individual NEET UG rank.
  • Result Publication: The Round 2 seat allotment result will be published on September 8, 2025, after 4:00 PM.
  • Document Verification and Admission: Following the result, candidates who are allotted a seat will be required to report to their respective colleges between September 9 and September 11, 2025, with all original documents for verification and admission.

Who Is Eligible?

The WBMCC has laid out clear eligibility criteria for Round 2. It is open to:

  • Fresh Candidates: Those who have not registered in Round 1.
  • Unallotted Candidates: Aspirants who registered for Round 1 but were not allotted a seat.
  • Upgradation Candidates: Those who were allotted a seat in Round 1 and have joined their college but are seeking an upgrade to a more preferred option.

Aspirants must ensure they have all necessary documents ready for the physical verification process. This includes all academic certificates, ID proofs, and the provisional allotment letter. For regular updates on the admission process and to get expert advice, follow Only Education News.
