West Bengal NEET UG Counselling 2025: Round 2 Merit List and Choice Filling Live Today

In a crucial development for thousands of medical and dental aspirants in West Bengal, the West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has officially published the provisional merit list and the updated seat matrix for the second round of NEET UG Counselling 2025. The list was made live on the official website, wbmcc.nic.in, today, setting the stage for the next phase of admissions for MBBS and BDS courses.

The publication of the merit list and the seat matrix is a pivotal step that provides clarity on the available seats after the completion of Round 1 admissions. This allows candidates to strategically plan their choices, especially those who did not secure a seat in the first round or are looking to upgrade their previously allotted colleges.

Crucial Dates and Process for Aspirants

The WBMCC has laid out a precise schedule for the next few days, and aspirants must adhere to it to ensure their participation in the counselling process.

• Choice Filling & Locking: The online choice-filling and locking facility has been activated today, September 1, 2025. This window will remain open until September 3, 2025. It is highly recommended that candidates fill their choices carefully and lock them before the deadline to avoid any discrepancies. Failure to lock choices may lead to them not being considered for seat allotment.
• Publication of Result (Round 2): The provisional seat allotment result for Round 2 is scheduled to be published on September 8, 2025, after 4 P.M. This result will determine which college and course have been provisionally allotted to the candidate.
• Reporting to Colleges: Following the result, candidates who have been allotted a seat must report to their respective colleges with all necessary original documents for verification and admission between September 9 and September 11, 2025.

Navigating the Second Round

The second round is a key opportunity for many aspirants. It is open to fresh candidates who have registered, those who were not allotted a seat in Round 1, and those who have secured and joined a college but are seeking an upgrade to a better college or course.

Aspirants are strongly advised to meticulously review the updated seat matrix, which details the available seats in both government and private medical and dental colleges across the state. This strategic approach will maximize their chances of securing a seat. All candidates must have their documents ready for the physical verification process that follows the seat allotment.
