WB NEET 2025 Admissions: Revised Schedule and Provisional List Released

The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has provided much-needed clarity for thousands of medical and dental aspirants by releasing a revised schedule for the first round of NEET UG 2025 counselling. This update comes after a temporary suspension of the admission process, which had caused significant uncertainty among students. The committee has also published the revised provisional list of candidates who are now eligible for Round 1 choice filling.

The suspension was a brief but impactful setback, announced just two days before the scheduled seat allotment results. This decision, though not officially explained, was likely part of an administrative process to ensure all protocols were followed correctly. The new notices published on the official WBMCC website confirm that the admission process is back on track.

Revised Dates and Key Deadlines

As per the new schedule, the Round 1 seat allotment results were published on August 23, 2025, after 11 a.m. This marks the beginning of the crucial post-allotment phase for all successful candidates.

Following the result publication, the reporting and admission process for candidates allotted a seat will take place on specific dates:

• August 23, 2025: From 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• August 25 and 26, 2025: From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Aspirants are required to report to their designated institutes with all the necessary original documents, requisite college fees, and a bond to secure their admission. The WBMCC has also issued a separate notice clarifying that for candidates allotted seats in private medical colleges, the admission process will be conducted at different government medical colleges in Kolkata, not at the private colleges themselves. For example, admissions to the Sanaka Institute of Dental Sciences will be held at Dr. R. Ahmed Dental College and Hospital.

What This Means for Aspirants

This revised schedule is a critical development for the 11,178 candidates who were part of the provisional merit list. It provides a clear roadmap and a limited window to complete their admission formalities. The WBMCC has also stated that while the Round 1 dates have been revised, the schedule for Round 2 counselling remains unchanged from the previously announced dates.

Aspirants must remain vigilant and check the official WBMCC website regularly for any further updates, as the committee has made it clear that no personal communication will be possible.
