The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has announced the final schedule for the Second Stray Vacancy Round of AYUSH Counselling 2025. This is the last chance for NEET-UG qualified aspirants to secure a seat in BAMS, BHMS, or BUMS courses in West Bengal. The critical window for online choice filling and locking is closing soon, with the deadline set for midnight on November 23, 2025. Candidates must submit their preferences immediately based on the verified list and newly published seat matrix. The allotment result will be declared on November 26, 2025.

For candidates who successfully qualified in NEET-UG 2025 but are yet to secure a seat in Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), or Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) courses, the clock is ticking. The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC), under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), has expedited the process for the Second Stray Vacancy Round of AYUSH Counselling 2025. This round represents the absolute final opportunity to fill remaining vacant seats across Government and Private AYUSH colleges in West Bengal.

The schedule, meticulously planned to conclude the admission process swiftly, places immense pressure on aspirants. The most critical step—the online choice filling and locking—is set to end at midnight on November 23, 2025. Candidates are strongly urged to finalize their choices for BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS seats immediately to avoid being locked out of the final seat allotment process.

Navigating the Critical Stray Vacancy Timeline

The Stray Vacancy Round, sometimes referred to as the Mop-Up or Final Round, is inherently fast-paced. WBMCC has ensured a tight, two-day window for choice filling, demanding prompt action from every eligible candidate. The entire process, from verification to final admission, is scheduled to conclude within one week.

  • Verification and Eligibility Check (Completed): The initial, mandatory step for validating candidate credentials took place on November 20, 2025. This physical/online verification ensured that only genuinely eligible, non-admitted candidates proceeded to the next stage. Candidates who missed this step are typically ineligible to participate.
  • Publication of Verified List and Seat Matrix (November 21, 2025): The official WBMCC website published the List of Successfully Verified candidates and the Seat Matrix for the Second Stray Vacancy Round on November 21, 2025, after 12 noon. This seat matrix is crucial, as it details the final count of vacant seats across different colleges and reservation categories (UR, EWS, OBC, SC, ST) for BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS courses.
  • Online Choice Filling and Locking (Closes Tonight): The narrow window for submitting course and college preferences began on November 21, 2025, after 4 PM, and will conclude at midnight on November 23, 2025. Aspirants must use the final seat matrix to formulate a realistic and comprehensive list of choices, ensuring they prioritize their desired BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS seats. Failing to lock choices before the deadline will forfeit the candidate's chance for allotment.
  • Allotment Result Declaration (November 26, 2025): The highly anticipated final allotment result is scheduled for release on November 26, 2025, after 4 PM. This result will confirm the final seat allocation based on the candidate's NEET-UG merit rank, category, and locked choices.

Eligibility and Strategic Choice Filling for BAMS/BHMS Aspirants

The Second Stray Vacancy Round typically has stringent rules designed to exclude candidates who have already secured an admission elsewhere, ensuring seats go to those who have not yet been placed. Only candidates who were successfully registered, paid the security deposit, and verified on November 20, 2025, are eligible to proceed with choice filling.

  • Who Can Participate?
    • Candidates who successfully registered and completed the fee payment/verification but were never allotted a seat in any previous round (Round 1, Round 2, or Mop-Up Round 1).
    • Candidates who were registered but did not participate in choice filling in earlier rounds.
  • Who is Excluded?
    • Candidates who have already joined/admitted to any AYUSH (BAMS, BHMS, BUMS) seat in any Central or State counselling round.
    • Candidates whose candidature was rejected during previous document verification rounds.
    • Candidates who surrendered or withdrew from an allotted seat in any prior round. (Note: Specific eligibility may vary; candidates must refer to the official WBMCC notification.)
  • Choice Filling Strategy: Since this is the final round, aspirants should cast a wide net. Instead of focusing only on the highest-ranked Government colleges, candidates should strategically fill choices that are reasonably within their rank range, covering both Government and Private College seats (Management Quota seats, if applicable) for BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS, as listed in the November 21st seat matrix. Every available seat must be considered a priority.

Reporting and Final Admission Formalities

Post-allotment, the admission process will be immediate, demanding that candidates have all original documents and requisite fees prepared in advance. The final admission process is scheduled for a short, two-day window.

  • Reporting Window: All allotted candidates must report to their respective institutions for physical document verification and admission on November 27 and November 28, 2025, between 11 AM and 4 PM. This schedule leaves absolutely no room for delay.
  • Mandatory Documents: Candidates must carry all original certificates, including the NEET-UG 2025 Scorecard, NEET-UG Admit Card, Class 10th and 12th Mark Sheets and Certificates, Domicile Certificate (for State Quota seats), Category Certificate (if applicable), and the Provisional Allotment Letter downloaded from the WBMCC website.
  • Admission Confirmation: After successful re-verification of documents by the allotted college authority, candidates must pay the requisite college fee and submit any necessary bonds to confirm their admission. Failure to report within the stipulated two-day period (November 27-28) will result in the immediate cancellation of the allotment, with the seat reverting to the college.

Conclusion

The WBMCC's Second Stray Vacancy Round for AYUSH Counselling 2025 is a high-stakes, time-bound procedure. With the choice filling deadline set for midnight on November 23, 2025, aspirants aiming for BAMS, BHMS, or BUMS seats in West Bengal must finalize their choices without further delay. Success in this final round hinges on strict adherence to the critical deadlines and strategic utilization of the available seat matrix. Candidates should prepare for the final reporting phase immediately to secure their place in the 2025-26 academic session.
