The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has initiated the application process for the VIT Research Entrance Examination (VITREE) January 2026 session. This exam is conducted for admission to the PhD and Direct PhD programs across the VIT campuses in Vellore, Chennai, AP, and Bhopal.

Application Details & Steps

The VITREE 2026 application process is strictly online.

  • Application Fee: The non-refundable registration fee is ₹1200 for all categories.
  • Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on their VITREE 2026 scores, followed by a review of their academic performance, research proposal, and a Personal Interview. The entrance test will be conducted in 25 cities across India.

How to Apply Online:

  1. Visit the official admissions website: https://vit.ac.in/.
  2. Sign up and register by entering the required basic details.
  3. Sign in using your credentials to access and fill out the VITREE PhD application form.
  4. Upload the necessary documents, including: Photo ID proof, Graduation and Master’s educational certificates, and scanned images of your photograph and signature.
  5. Pay the non-refundable registration fee online.
  6. Submit the final application form and save a printout for future reference.

Candidates must fill out the form carefully as no correction facility will be provided after submission.
