UPTAC 2026 Special Round 1 Choice Filling Deadline Extended to August 16

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has updated the UPTAC schedule. The deadline for filling choices in Special Round 1 has been extended. Candidates can lock their BTech preferences on the uptac.samarth.edu.in portal until August 16, 2026. Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC) is a state-level process for engineering admissions. AKTU organizes it annually for its affiliated institutes across Uttar Pradesh. The Special Round is meant for remaining seats that are not filled in the main rounds. The seat allotment for Special Round 1 will be announced on August 18, 2026. Candidates need to report physically at their assigned institutes from August 19 to 21. Fee payment and document verification must be completed by August 14, 2026. Applicants must pay a ₹20,000 participation fee for the Special Round. This fee is non-refundable in any case. Those who do not report physically within the given dates will lose their allotted seat.

Who Can Take Part in the Special Round?

The Special Round is open to:

• JEE Main 2026 qualified BTech candidates
• CUET UG 2026 applicants who selected AKTU during registration
• Candidates pursuing Integrated MTech and BDes programmes
• New candidates who have not registered before
• Candidates who were previously allotted seats but did not report
• Seats are allocated based on merit rank and choices made by the candidates.

How to Fill Choices for UPTAC 2026 Special Round 1?

Candidates need to log in using their UPTAC application number and password. The choice-filling window closes on August 16, 2026. If choices are not locked by the deadline, the system will automatically lock them.

1. Visit the official website at uptac.samarth.edu.in.
2. Log in with your UPTAC application number and password.
3. Pay the ₹20,000 fee and complete document verification.
4. Select your preferred colleges and branches in order of priority.
5. Lock your final choice list before the deadline.

How to Pay the Special Round Fee?

The ₹20,000 fee must be paid through online methods on the Samarth portal.

Accepted payment options include:

• Net banking
• Debit card
• Credit card
• UPI

Candidates must keep the payment receipt for verification during physical reporting. This fee is separate from the fee paid for the main round and is additional to any previously deposited registration amount. Candidates who are not allotted a seat cannot get a refund.

What Happens After Seat Allotment?

Candidates who are allotted a seat must:

1. Download the provisional allotment letter from the portal.
2. Report to the assigned institute with the required documents.
3. Present the original certificates and fee payment receipt.
4. Complete document verification at the institute.
5. Complete the admission process as instructed by the institute.

If a candidate misses the reporting dates, they will lose the allotted seat. The Special Round fee will not be refunded in such cases.

Documents Required for Physical Reporting

Candidates must bring the original academic and identity documents along with photocopies.

Required documents include:

• Class 10 marksheet and certificate
• Class 12 marksheet and certificate
• JEE Main 2026 or CUET UG 2026 scorecard
• Valid photo ID such as Aadhaar or PAN card
• Category certificate, if applicable
• Domicile proof, where required for Uttar Pradesh state quota seats
• Provisional seat allotment letter
• Fee payment receipt
• Missing documents can result in the candidate losing the allotted seat.
