UPTAC 2026 B.Tech Counselling Schedule Released; Registration Open Till June 15

The timetable for the UPTAC 2026 B.Tech admission process has been released by the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). The registration and uploading of documents will start on 25th May 2026 and go on until 15th June 2026 through the online website uptac.samarth.edu.in. The UPTAC 2026 counselling is meant for students who have passed the JEE Main 2026 exam and have completed their 10+2 education from the Uttar Pradesh state or have a domicile in Uttar Pradesh. The counselling will be held in 6 rounds, with 5 being regular rounds and 1 being a special round. Candidates will need to pay a confirmation fee of Rs. 20,000 or Rs. 12,000.

The candidate needs to visit the official UPTAC website, which is uptac.samarth.edu.in, to start the registration process. To register, they will need their JEE Main 2026 application number and their date of birth. During registration, the candidate must upload scanned copies of several important documents like the JEE Main admit card, Class 12 mark sheet, category certificate (if applicable), and the APAAR ID.
It’s important to remember that the APAAR ID must be generated beforehand by visiting the DigiLocker portal. After uploading all the documents, the candidate has to verify them through the online verification process from May 28 to June 20, 2026. Only after this verification can they move on to the next steps of choosing colleges and getting seat allotment.
Choice Filling and Seat Allotment for UPTAC 2026
The candidate has to select their preferred colleges and courses during the choice-filling period, which is from June 22 to June 25, 2026. The seat allotment will be done based on the candidate’s rank, category, and the choices they have made. The final seat allotment results will be announced on June 27, 2026.
Seat Confirmation & Payment for UPTAC 2026
Candidates need to pay the seat confirmation fee as per the given deadlines. The fee is ₹20,000 for General/OBC-NCL candidates and ₹12,000 for SC/ST/EWS/PwBD candidates. The fee payment process will be open for candidates up until June 27 to June 29, 2026.
Physical Reporting by UPTAC 2026 Allotted Candidates
Candidates who have received admission offers in Round 4 must physically visit the allotted institution during the period of July 14 to July 16, 2026. If a candidate does not report within this time frame, their seat will be cancelled, and there will be no refund of the fee. After visiting the allotted institution, those candidates who applied internally can take part in internal sliding from July 14 to July 16, 2026.
This option gives candidates the chance to get a better seat offer from the same institution. Candidates who have not received any seat allotment so far should register for the Special Round 1 starting from July 18, 2026. It is advisable for candidates to have their JEE Main application number and date of birth ready before the process begins. All the dates mentioned are provisional and may change based on the seat matrix, which will be available by June 15, 2026.
Future Steps for Students
After the seat allocation and confirmation process is complete, students must go to their assigned institutes on the given dates. The final admission confirmation will happen through counselling at the institute level, using the scorecards provided by AKTU. The counselling for UPTAC 2026 will have six rounds of seat allocation, giving students multiple chances to get into engineering courses at different colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Students should register for UPTAC 2026 before 15 June 2026.
