The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME) of Uttar Pradesh is set to close the admission window for the Round 1 seat allotment of NEET UG 2025 today. This marks the end of the first phase of state-level counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Uttar Pradesh. With the Round 1 process wrapping up, the attention of thousands of aspirants has now shifted to the upcoming second round, as the official schedule is expected to be released imminently.

The counselling for Round 2 is a crucial opportunity for candidates who did not secure a seat in the first round, as well as for those who wish to upgrade their college preference. The seat matrix for Round 2 will be updated to include seats that became vacant after Round 1 and any new seats that may have been approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Key Details for the Upcoming Round 2

While the official dates for the registration and choice-filling process are still to be announced, here are the expected details aspirants should prepare for:

  • Registration: New candidates who did not participate in Round 1 will have to register and pay the counselling fee. Those who already registered in Round 1 will not need to register again.
  • Registration Fee & Security Deposit: Aspirants must be prepared with the necessary fees. The non-refundable registration fee is ₹2,000. The security deposit is ₹30,000 for government colleges and ₹2,00,000 for private medical colleges, which is refunded if a seat is not allotted.
  • Choice Filling: The choice-filling process for Round 2 is critical. Aspirants are advised to carefully fill their college preferences based on the updated seat matrix and their NEET UG rank to maximize their chances of securing a seat.

The official schedule, once released on the DGME website, will provide clarity on the start date for registration, the window for choice filling, the date for the allotment result, and the subsequent reporting period. Aspirants are advised to keep checking the official UP NEET website and official news channels. For regular updates and a simplified guide to the counselling process, follow Only Education.
