The cost of pursuing postgraduate medical education in Uttar Pradesh has reached staggering new heights, with the fee structure for certain private medical colleges hitting a massive ₹1.45 crore for an MD (Doctor of Medicine) seat. This exorbitant fee, spread across the duration of the three-year course, highlights the extreme financial demands placed on medical aspirants seeking specialization in the state.

The fee structure has been officially approved by the Fee Regulation Committee (FRC) and applies to both the general private and minority private medical colleges participating in the UP NEET PG 2025 counselling.

The Most Expensive Colleges

Among the private non-minority medical colleges, FH Medical College and Integral Medical College have been identified as the most expensive institutions. These colleges are reportedly charging the maximum permissible amount, translating to approximately ₹48.33 lakh per year in tuition fees alone, totaling ₹1.45 crore for the entire MD program.

The fee variation across private colleges is significant, but the top-end figures emphasize the massive investment required for a postgraduate degree in certain private institutions, particularly for non-clinical or para-clinical branches. Aspirants need to factor in this substantial financial commitment before finalizing their choices during the UP NEET PG counselling rounds.

Fee Structure for Minority Private Colleges

The fee structure for the state's minority private medical colleges also remains high, although it is slightly lower than the most expensive general private colleges. The approved tuition fee for seats in these four minority institutions ranges from ₹39 Lakh to ₹42 Lakh per year.

This means a candidate securing an MD seat in one of these minority colleges will face a tuition cost of approximately ₹1.17 crore to ₹1.26 crore for the entire three-year course.

Additional Mandatory Expenses

Beyond the high tuition fees, candidates must account for significant additional mandatory charges. The approved structure for all four minority private medical colleges includes substantial annual charges for accommodation and miscellaneous expenses:

  • Hostel Accommodation: All four minority colleges uniformly charge ₹3 lakh per year for hostel fees.
  • Miscellaneous Fees: Additional miscellaneous charges, covering various administrative and infrastructural costs, range between ₹1 lakh to ₹1.4 lakh per year.

When these mandatory additional expenses are added to the annual tuition, the total annual cost of an MD seat in the minority private colleges pushes the overall financial burden even higher, demanding careful preparation from aspirants and their families. This level of investment is crucial information for any aspirant making their final choices. For regular updates on fee schedules and admission processes, follow Only Education News.
