The anticipation among design aspirants is peaking as the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay prepares to publish the final results of the preliminary evaluation phase. As of today, January 27, 2026, candidates who appeared for the national-level entrance exams on January 18 are closely monitoring the official portals for the final confirmation of their Part-A scores. The objection window, which allowed students to challenge the draft answer keys, concluded on January 22, and the expert committee has spent the last few days reviewing every submitted grievance. This confirmation will be the final word on the objective scoring, clearing the path for the manual grading of the subjective Part-B papers that test drawing and creative aptitude.

Final Answer Key Release Schedule

According to the official 2026 schedule, the exam authorities follow a strict timeline to ensure the results are processed before the start of the academic session.

• Release Date: The final answer keys for both UCEED and CEED are scheduled for publication on January 28, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
• Platform: Candidates must log in to the respective UCEED or CEED portals to download the PDF.
• No Further Objections: After tomorrow's release, no further query regarding the answer key will be entertained by the university.
• Part-A Filtering: Only those who clear the Part-A cut-off based on this final key will have their Part-B designs evaluated for a merit rank.

Scoring and Cut-off Expectations

The marking scheme for Part-A remains consistent with previous years, emphasizing precision and speed. Any query regarding the marking of Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) is typically the most common issue addressed in the final key.

• Negative Marking: Part-A sections like MCQs and MSQs carry negative or partial marking, making the final key accuracy critical for a candidate's qualifying chances.
• Cut-off Announcement: IIT Bombay is expected to release the mean and standard deviation for the Part-A section on February 5, 2026.
• Final Evaluation: For UCEED, the result is scheduled for March 6, while the CEED query phase will culminate in a result on March 4, 2026.

Important Dates for Post-Exam Events

Shortlisted candidates should keep a record of the following dates to ensure they don't miss any critical steps in the admission cycle.

Conclusion

The upcoming release of the final keys on January 28 will provide the ultimate confirmation for design aspirants across India. As the exam committee resolves every technical query raised during the objection window, the focus now shifts toward the qualifying marks for Part-A. Successfully crossing this threshold is the only way to ensure that a candidate's creative work in Part-B is seen by the evaluators. For thousands of students, tomorrow's 5:00 PM update will be the first major step toward securing a seat in India's most prestigious design institutions for the 2026-27 academic year.
