The wait is nearly over for thousands of creative minds who appeared for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design. As of today, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has confirmed that the UCEED 2026 results will be officially declared on March 6, 2026. Candidates who sat for the exam on January 18 can access their performance reports by logging into the official UCEED portal. This announcement follows the successful release of the Part-A cutoff marks earlier this month on February 5.

Accessing the Result and Scorecard

Students must use their registered email ID and password to view their marks. It is important to note that while the result is visible on March 6, the actual scorecard download facility will only begin on March 10, 2026. This digital document is essential for the upcoming admission rounds and will remain available for download until July 31, 2026. IIT Bombay has clarified that no hard copies of the results will be sent by post, so students must save a digital copy for their records.

Evaluation and Shortlisting Criteria

The merit list for UCEED is prepared using a specific method. Only those who cleared the Part-A cutoff have had their subjective Part-B (drawing) papers evaluated. The final rank is calculated by adding the marks from both sections. If two students get the same total marks, the one with higher marks in Part-B is given a better rank. You can read the full details of this process in the official UCEED Information Brochure.

Next Steps: The Joint Admission Process

Once the results are out, the focus will shift to the joint admission rounds. Qualified candidates must apply separately for B.Des seats between March 14 and April 10, 2026. This process covers admissions to IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur. There will be five rounds of seat allotment starting from late April. Students are advised to keep their category certificates and academic documents ready to avoid any last-minute stress during the online registration process.

Remember that a UCEED rank is valid for only one year. Many private design colleges also accept these scores, but they may have different application deadlines. Students should regularly check the "Updates" section of the main website to stay informed about any changes in the counseling schedule.
