The TS LAWCET 2025 counselling is underway, with physical verification for special categories (CAP, NCC, PH, Sports) scheduled from August 8 to 14. This article details the process and required documents.

As the online registration for TS LAWCET 2025 counselling continues, aspirants from special categories have been asked to pay close attention to the revised schedule for physical certificate verification. The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has commenced the crucial process for candidates under the NCC, CAP (Children of Armed Personnel), PH (Physically Handicapped/Differently-abled), and Sports categories. This key step, which is a mandatory prerequisite for seat allotment under these reserved quotas, is taking place from August 8 to August 14, 2025.

The initial stages of the TS LAWCET counselling began with online registration on August 4. However, the special category verification requires a distinct, in-person process to validate the authenticity of the claims. The "realignment" of the CAP and other special category schedules ensures that all documentation is verified and approved before the web options window opens later this month. This strategic sequencing is designed to prevent any last-minute discrepancies and ensure a seamless allocation process for these specific quotas.

Physical Verification: What Aspirants Need to Know

Candidates who have successfully registered online and paid the processing fee must now attend the physical verification of their certificates at designated help centers. This is not a drop-off service; it requires the candidate’s presence for verification.

  • Eligibility: Only candidates who have paid the processing fee and have a valid TS LAWCET rank are eligible for this verification.
  • Documents Required: Candidates must bring all original certificates along with two sets of photocopies. The documents include their TS LAWCET Rank Card, hall ticket, SSC and Intermediate/Degree certificates, Aadhaar card, and most importantly, the original special category certificate. For CAP candidates, a certificate from the appropriate military authority is required. For NCC, the certificate must be in the prescribed format. For Sports, the candidate must produce a certificate from the Sports Authority of Telangana or a recognized national sports body.
  • Slot Booking: Aspirants are required to book a slot for their physical verification to manage the flow of candidates at the help centers. This helps in avoiding long queues and ensuring a streamlined process.

The verification process is more than a formality; it is a critical gatekeeping mechanism. Any discrepancy found in the documents or a failure to attend the verification will lead to the cancellation of the special category claim, and the candidate will only be considered under the general merit list.

The Bigger Picture: Counselling Roadmap

This physical verification for special categories fits into the broader timeline of the first phase of TS LAWCET counselling. The full schedule is as follows:

  • Online Registration & Fee Payment: August 4 to August 14, 2025
  • Physical Verification of Special Category Certificates: August 8 to August 14, 2025
  • Display of List of Eligible Candidates: August 20, 2025
  • Exercising Web Options (Phase 1): August 21 and 22, 2025
  • Editing Web Options: August 23, 2025
  • Provisional Allotment List (Phase 1): August 28, 2025

The physical verification stage is particularly important because it directly impacts the web options phase. Once the list of verified candidates is published on August 20, only those with a cleared status will be able to select colleges and courses under their respective special categories. The seat allotment is a complex process that takes into account the candidate's rank, college preferences, and the reservation policy. A small error or delay during the verification can have a domino effect, potentially costing a candidate a valuable seat.

With a substantial number of seats reserved for these categories in various government and private law colleges across Telangana, aspirants are urged to make the most of this opportunity. The timely and accurate completion of this verification is the key to unlocking their seat in the highly competitive TS LAWCET admissions process.
