The TS EAMCET 2026 examination, officially known as TG EAPCET, has kicked off today, May 4, 2026 — and for thousands of BiPC students across Telangana, this is the day they have been preparing for. Conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) under the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE), the exam is being held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across multiple designated centres in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Day 1 is entirely dedicated to the Agriculture and Pharmacy (A&P) stream, with BiPC candidates appearing across two shifts — Shift 1 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and Shift 2 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Over 80,000 candidates are expected to appear for the A&P stream alone, while total participation across both BiPC and MPC streams is projected to exceed 3 lakh candidates this year.
Exam Pattern — What the Paper Looks Like
The TS EAMCET 2026 question paper consists of 160 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 3 hours. Biology carries the highest weightage with 80 questions — split equally between Botany and Zoology with 40 each. Physics and Chemistry follow with 40 questions each. A key student-friendly feature of this exam is the complete absence of negative marking. Every correct answer fetches +1 mark, and wrong answers carry no penalty, encouraging students to attempt all questions confidently.
The exam is conducted in three languages — English, Telugu, and Urdu — making it accessible to a diverse student population across both states.
How Did the Paper Go? Early Student Reactions
Based on initial student reactions following Shift 1, the overall difficulty level ranged from easy to moderate. Biology was widely considered the most comfortable section, with most questions drawn from NCERT-aligned topics such as Plant Physiology, Reproduction, Ecology, Human Physiology, and Genetics. Chemistry was rated balanced, featuring a healthy mix of theoretical and application-based questions from Organic, Inorganic, and Physical Chemistry. Physics, however, emerged as the toughest section of the day, with numerical-heavy questions from Mechanics, Thermodynamics, and Modern Physics testing both concept clarity and speed.
Most candidates reported that three hours was sufficient to attempt all 160 questions without major time pressure.
Provisional Score & Answer Key
One standout feature of TS EAMCET 2026 is the immediate display of provisional scores on the candidate's screen right after exam submission. A copy of the response sheet and provisional score is also sent via email and SMS. The provisional answer key is expected to be released within one to two days of the last A&P shift, after which an objection window will open for candidates to raise concerns. The final answer key and result are expected in late May or early June 2026.
What's Next
The MPC stream exams — covering Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry for engineering aspirants — are scheduled for May 9, 10, and 11, 2026. Counselling is tentatively expected to begin in August 2026. Candidates are advised to keep checking eapcet.tgche.ac.in for official updates on results and counselling schedules
