Candidates who are eligible for admission must apply only through the official website at tnau.ucanapply.com before the last date, which is June 8, 2026. The application fee is Rs 200 for the general category and Rs 100 for those belonging to SC, SCA, and ST categories. The university does not accept any printed forms, and all applications must be submitted online.
The university provides 14 undergraduate programs and three diploma programs through its affiliated and constituent colleges located throughout the state of Tamil Nadu. TNAU is recognized as one of the top agricultural universities in India and is an accredited institution by ICAR. Students enrolled in these programs get the chance to learn about various subjects such as agriculture, horticulture, forestry, food technology, biotechnology, and agricultural engineering.

Eligibility for the B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, and Sericulture requires passing the 10+2 examination, HSC, or equivalent with the required subjects. The necessary subjects are physics, chemistry, and biology. For B.Tech. Agricultural Engineering, candidates must have studied mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Those from vocational streams who have studied physics, chemistry, and biology or agriculture practices are also eligible. The maximum age limit is 21 years as of July 1, 2026. There is no age limit for candidates belonging to SC, SCA, and ST categories.
Eligibility for diploma courses requires passing the Higher Secondary Examination, 10+2, or equivalent.
For a diploma in agriculture and a diploma in horticulture, the required subjects are physics, chemistry, and biology from the academic stream. Candidates must upload scanned copies of the required documents, which include mark sheets from their HSC or equivalent exams, a certificate of good conduct from their last school, a transfer certificate, and a community certificate if applicable. Candidates who did not study in Tamil Nadu are required to submit a certificate proving they have permanent residence in the state. A physical fitness certificate must also be submitted at the time of admission, issued by a government medical officer. All original documents must be submitted on the designated date for verification by the respective institution.
Future Prospects for Students
After the application deadline, TNAU will publish merit lists based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam. Selected candidates will be informed by email and SMS about the counseling process. During counseling, students can choose their preferred course and college based on availability and eligibility.
A counseling fee of ₹200 is required from all candidates, which is non-refundable. Candidates from SC/SCA/ST categories will need to pay ₹100 instead. Those who are selected must report to their assigned college to complete admission formalities and pay the semester tuition fees.
