In a crucial development for medical aspirants, the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Tamil Nadu, has extended the deadline for the online application process for postgraduate medical and diploma courses for the 2025-2026 academic session. This last-minute extension, announced following numerous representations from candidates, provides a final opportunity for those who have yet to submit their applications. The revised deadline is a vital lifeline for thousands of students who are seeking admission to various PG medical courses across the state. Check updates on the official website https://tnmedicalselection.net/.

The extension underscores the state's commitment to ensuring all eligible aspirants have a fair chance to participate in the counselling process. For students who may have faced technical issues or were gathering necessary documentation, this is a significant relief. It’s a clear signal that the authorities are listening to the concerns of the student community. This final window is particularly critical, as it aligns the state-level process with the ongoing national counselling timeline, ensuring no deserving candidate is left behind due to procedural delays.

For aspirants preparing to submit their applications, it is essential to be aware of the key details and requirements to ensure a smooth and successful process.

  • New Application Deadline: The final date for online submission of applications for PG Degree and Diploma courses is September 18, 2025, at 5:00 PM. This is a strict deadline, and aspirants are urged to complete their application well in advance to avoid any last-minute technical glitches.
  • Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have qualified for the NEET PG 2025 examination and hold an MBBS degree from an NMC-recognized college. It is also mandatory to have a permanent or provisional registration certificate from the Tamil Nadu State Medical Council or the Medical Council of India.
  • Documents Required: Aspirants must upload self-attested, clear photocopies of several key documents, including their NEET PG 2025 admit card and score card, MBBS degree certificate or provisional pass certificate, and a CRRI Completion Certificate.
  • Application Fee: Candidates, except those from the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories of Tamil Nadu, are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹3,000 and a registration fee of ₹1,000. For aspirants opting for the Management Quota, a security deposit is also required.
  • Counselling Process: The counselling will be conducted online, and admission will be based on the candidate's rank and communal reservation rules. Dates for the release of the merit list, choice filling, and seat allotment will be announced shortly.

This extension offers a final opportunity to secure a seat in some of the most sought-after medical programs in the state. Aspirants should take this time to double-check their application forms, ensure all documents are properly uploaded, and finalize their preferences.
