The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has officially opened the CLAT 2026 Counselling Registration window today, December 17, 2025. This follows the declaration of the CLAT 2026 results on December 16.

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has officially opened the CLAT 2026 Counselling Registration window today, December 17, 2025. This follows the declaration of the CLAT 2026 results on December 16.

Qualified candidates who have received invitations via email or SMS are now eligible to log in and submit their NLU preferences. The process is entirely online and mandatory for all students seeking admission to UG and PG law programs for the 2026–27 academic year.


CLAT 2026 Counselling: Key Dates & Deadlines

Aspirants must adhere strictly to the schedule released by the Consortium to ensure they don't lose their seat in the merit-based allocation.

Step-by-Step Registration Process

To participate in the admission cycle, candidates must complete the following steps through the official portal:

  1. Login: Visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in and log in using your registered mobile number and password.
  2. Check Invitation: Ensure you have received the "Invitation for Counselling" notification on your dashboard.
  3. Update Preferences: Click on the “Update NLU Preferences” button.
    • UG Candidates: Must select a minimum of 15 NLUs.
    • PG Candidates: Must select a minimum of 5 NLUs.
  4. Fee Payment: Pay the non-refundable counselling registration fee.
    • General/OBC/NRI/OCI: ₹30,000
    • SC/ST/EWS/PwD: ₹20,000
  5. Review and Submit: Ensure all preferences are in your order of priority before final submission.

Important Notes for Aspirants

  • Merit-Based Allotment: Seats are allotted strictly based on the CLAT 2026 All India Rank, category, and the order of preferences filled during this registration window.
  • Confirmation Fee: Once a seat is allotted in any round, candidates will need to pay a separate confirmation fee to choose the Freeze or Float options.
  • Invite Only: Not all qualified candidates are invited for counselling; invitations are sent based on the availability of seats across categories.
