Today marks the final day for successful candidates of the Tamil Nadu NEET-UG 2025 Round 3 Counselling to download their provisional allotment letters and complete the crucial step of reporting to their allotted medical or dental colleges. According to the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chennai, the deadline for downloading the provisional allotment letter and the last date for joining the allotted institute is today, October 22, 2025 (up to 10:00 PM).

This is a critically important deadline for all aspirants who were successfully allotted a seat in the third round of counselling for MBBS and BDS courses across government, self-financing, and private colleges in the state. Failure to download the allotment order and complete the admission formalities by the end of today will lead to the automatic cancellation of the allotted seat, and the candidate may not be considered for any subsequent rounds, including the stray vacancy round (if conducted).

Immediate Action Required for Allotted Candidates

Candidates must log in immediately to the official website of the Directorate of Medical Education, TN, at https://tnmedicalselection.net/, using their credentials to access the provisional allotment letter. The schedule released by the authorities clearly stated that the letter download and reporting period spanned from October 16 to October 22, 2025. With the window closing at 10:00 PM tonight, every aspirant must prioritize these final steps:

1. Download the Provisional Allotment Letter: This document is mandatory for admission.
2. Collect Necessary Documents: Candidates must assemble all original certificates, including the NEET-UG 2025 scorecard, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, nativity/domicile certificate, community certificate (if applicable), and other supporting documents, as specified in the counselling prospectus.
3. Report to the Allotted College: The final, non-negotiable step is the physical reporting and fee payment at the specific medical or dental college mentioned in the allotment letter. The admission process is only complete once the candidate has paid the full tuition fee and submitted the required original documents to the institution before the 10:00 PM deadline.

Understanding the Significance of Round 3

Round 3 of the Tamil Nadu NEET-UG counselling is a high-stakes mop-up mechanism designed to fill seats that remained vacant after the first two rounds, including those vacated by candidates who opted for upgradation or non-reported. For many aspirants, this represents the last viable opportunity to secure a seat in the highly competitive state quota.

Aspirants who have been successfully allotted seats should be aware that the admission in Round 3 is often considered final. If a candidate misses today’s deadline, their seat will be released back into the central pool for a potential stray vacancy round, and they will likely forfeit their opportunity for admission in the current academic session.

Students preparing for future cycles of NEET-UG should observe the disciplined deadlines enforced by states like Tamil Nadu. For regular updates on medical college admissions and exams, follow Only Education News.
