The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) in Tamil Nadu has started accepting online applications for the 2026 Tamil Nadu NEET Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) counseling.

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) in Tamil Nadu has started accepting online applications for the 2026 Tamil Nadu NEET Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) counseling. Candidates who are qualified can apply through the official website at tnmedicalselection.net. The final date to register is July 22, 2026. The Selection Committee has issued two different prospectuses for the upcoming 2026-2027 session.
One is for admissions to government dental colleges and government seats in self-financing institutions, while the other covers management quota and NRI seats in self-financing dental colleges linked to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. Registration is happening on the special website at regpg.tnmedicalonline.co.in/MDS26. Those who passed the NEET MDS 2026 exam need to complete their registration within the given time frame to be considered for the state counseling process.

Who is eligible to apply?

Applicants must have passed the NEET MDS 2026 exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences. They should have a valid Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from an approved dental institution. They also need to have completed or be in the process of finishing their mandatory rotatory internship as per the Selection Committee’s schedule. How to register for Tamil Nadu NEET MDS 2026 counseling?

The registration process involves six steps on the official site. Candidates should have their scanned documents and NEET MDS details ready before starting.

  1. First, read the relevant prospectus available on the DMER website carefully.
  2. Next, go to the registration portal at regpg.tnmedicalonline.co.in/MDS26.
  3. Create a login using a valid email and mobile number.
  4. Fill in personal, academic, and NEET MDS 2026 details.
  5. Upload the required photographs and documents in the specified formats.
  6. Pay the registration fee online to complete the process.

Documents and photographs required

Candidates must upload scanned photos in the exact format as required by the portal. The photos should be in JPG format with specific file size limits.

  • The 3.5 inch by 4.5 inch photo should be between 50 KB and 200 KB.
  • The 4 inch by 6 inch photo must be between 100 KB and 300 KB.
  • Two smaller photos of 1 inch by 3.5 inch and 1.5 inch by 2 inch, each between 10 KB and 50 KB.

Candidates should also have their NEET MDS 2026 scorecard, BDS mark sheets, internship certificate, and nativity or community documents ready to upload.

Payment and support helpline

The registration fee must be paid online through the portal. Candidates can use net banking, a debit card, a credit card, or UPI to complete the transaction. For any registration-related questions, the Selection Committee has provided helpline numbers: 044-28361674 and 044-28363821. The lines are open Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM and on Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM.
