The SRM Institute of Science and Technology has opened the Phase 1 application portal for its Joint Engineering Entrance Exam (SRMJEEE) 2026. Eligible candidates must complete their online registration before the April 16 deadline to appear for the remote proctored entrance test scheduled from April 23 to 28.

Engineering aspirants looking for admission into the prestigious SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) have an important deadline approaching. The university is currently accepting online forms for the SRMJEEE 2026 Phase 1. As of today, February 23, the portal is active for students to secure their chance for the first phase of the national-level entrance test. This examination is the primary gateway for students seeking B.Tech seats across SRM campuses in Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, Delhi-NCR, Sonepat, and Andhra Pradesh.

According to the official schedule, the Phase 1 examination will be conducted from April 23 to April 28, 2026. Students must ensure that their registration is finished on the official SRMJEEE application portal by the last date, which is April 16, 2026. Completing the application early is advised to avoid last-minute technical issues.

Key Dates and Application Fees

For students planning their study schedule, keeping track of these dates is very important. SRMIST conducts the exam in multiple phases, but Phase 1 is often the most popular choice for students who want to finish their entrance tests early.

The application fee for the entrance test is ₹1,400. This fee applies to each phase you choose to attempt. For example, if a student wants to try again in Phase 2 to improve their score, they will need to pay the fee again. Payments can be made easily through net banking, credit cards, or UPI on the official website.

Eligibility and How to Apply

The eligibility rules for the SRMJEEE 2026 are straightforward. Students must have passed or be appearing for their Class 12 (Higher Secondary) exams in the current year. They need to have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Computer Science. A minimum aggregate of 60% in these three subjects is required for the main campuses.

To complete your registration, follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit the SRMIST Admission Page.
  2. Click on the "Apply Now" button for B.Tech programs.
  3. Register by providing your name, email, and mobile number.
  4. Fill in your personal and educational details in the application form.
  5. Upload a clear photograph and your signature.
  6. Pay the fee online and download the confirmation page.

Remote Proctored Exam Pattern

The SRMJEEE 2026 is unique because it is a Remote Proctored Online Mode (RPOM) exam. This means students do not need to go to an exam center. Instead, they can take the test from the comfort of their own homes using a laptop or desktop with a working webcam and internet connection.

The examination consists of 130 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The subjects covered include Physics (35 questions), Chemistry (35 questions), Mathematics/Biology (40 questions), English (5 questions), and Aptitude (15 questions). One of the biggest advantages for students is that there is no negative marking. This means you can attempt all questions without the fear of losing marks for wrong answers.

Conclusion and Next Steps

In conclusion, the SRMJEEE 2026 offers a flexible and student-friendly way to join a top engineering college. With the February 23 deadline passing, students only have about seven weeks left to complete their registration. SRMIST is well-known for its "Dream Placements" and global exposure, making it a top pick for 10th and 12th-grade students across India.

  • Apply Early: Don't wait until April 16, as the website can get slow.
  • Practice Mocks: Use the official mock tests available on the portal to get used to the online environment.
  • Verify Documents: Make sure your Class 10 and 12 details match your certificates.

Securing a seat in the first phase can take a lot of pressure off before the board results come out. Start your application today!
