The final deadline is in sight for one of the most coveted law entrance exams in India. Aspiring legal professionals seeking admission to the distinguished Symbiosis Law Schools (SLS) must note the crucial date: the registration for the Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) 2026 closes on November 30, 2025. With the clock ticking, law aspirants are urged to expedite their application process for the five-year integrated undergraduate programs—the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)—offered by Symbiosis International (Deemed University). This is the final opportunity to register online at the official portal: www.slat-test.org. Do not miss the chance to compete for a seat in top institutions like SLS Pune, SLS Noida, SLS Hyderabad, and SLS Nagpur.

SLAT 2026 Exam Structure and Key Dates

Understanding the SLAT pattern is essential for strategic preparation. Symbiosis International (Deemed University) offers candidates a significant advantage by allowing two attempts for the entrance test, with the higher score being considered for the final merit calculation.

  • Dual Exam Dates:
    • SLAT 01: December 20, 2025 (Saturday)
    • SLAT 02: December 28, 2025 (Sunday)
    • Note: Candidates can choose to appear for one or both dates.
  • Test Pattern & Duration:
    • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
    • Total Duration: 60 Minutes (1 hour)
    • Total Questions: 60 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)
    • Marking Scheme: +1 Mark for every correct answer. Crucially, there is NO Negative Marking, encouraging candidates to attempt all questions.
  • Sectional Breakdown: The 60-minute test assesses candidates across five key areas of aptitude:
    • Logical Reasoning: 12 Questions
    • Legal Reasoning: 12 Questions
    • Analytical Reasoning: 12 Questions
    • Reading Comprehension: 12 Questions
    • General Knowledge: 12 Questions

Eligibility and Application Fee Details

The SLAT application process involves two distinct fee payments: one for the entrance test itself and a separate, mandatory fee for the specific Symbiosis Law Schools you wish to apply to.

  • Eligibility Criteria for Integrated Law Programs:
    • Educational Qualification: Candidate must have passed the (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognised board.
    • Minimum Marks: A minimum of 45% aggregate marks is required for General Category candidates.
    • A relaxation is provided for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories, who require a minimum of 40% aggregate marks.
    • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for appearing in SLAT 2026.
    • Candidates appearing for their Class 12 exams are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the minimum mark criteria at the time of admission.
  • SLAT 2026 Application Fees (Non-Refundable):
    • SLAT Registration Fee: ₹2,250 per test attempt (a candidate appearing for both dates pays this fee twice).
    • Programme Registration Fee: An additional ₹1,000 must be paid for EACH Symbiosis Law School (SLS) course/campus the candidate wishes to apply to (e.g., applying to SLS Pune B.A. LL.B. and SLS Noida B.B.A. LL.B. would cost ₹2,000 in programme fees).
    • Payment Mode: Online (Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking) or through Demand Draft (DD).

 Post-SLAT Selection Process and Seats

Admission to the Symbiosis Law Schools is highly competitive and is determined by a combination of the SLAT score and a mandatory second round of evaluation.

  • SLAT Merit Weightage:
    • The SLAT score carries a 70% weightage in the final merit list preparation.
    • The remaining 30% weightage is assigned to the Personal Interaction (PI) round.
    • Note: The Written Ability Test (WAT) component has been discontinued.
  • Personal Interaction (PI) Round:
    • Candidates shortlisted based on their SLAT score will be called for a mandatory Personal Interaction.
    • The PI assesses the candidate's personality, communication skills, general and legal awareness, and overall suitability for a legal career.
    • It is mandatory to attend the PI round of every SLS campus you have applied for to be eligible for admission to that institute.
  • Total Available Seats (Approximate): There are a total of 1080 seats available across the four Symbiosis Law Schools for the integrated B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. programs.
    • SLS Pune: ~300 Seats
    • SLS Noida: ~300 Seats
    • SLS Hyderabad: ~240 Seats
    • SLS Nagpur: ~240 Seats

Conclusion

With the registration deadline of November 30, 2025, fast approaching, law aspirants must treat this moment with urgency. Securing a strong score in SLAT 2026 is your direct path to a top-tier legal education at Symbiosis. Ensure your application form is accurately filled, the appropriate fees for the test and desired institutes are paid, and that you begin your targeted preparation immediately. Miss this deadline, and you miss your opportunity for the 2026 academic year. The announcement of the result is slated for January 15, 2026, giving you clarity early in the new year.
