The final registration deadline for the Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) 2026 is fast approaching on November 30, 2025. Aspirants seeking admission to the prestigious Symbiosis Law Schools (SLS) in Pune, Noida, Hyderabad, and Nagpur must finalize their application immediately. Remember, paying only the SLAT exam fee (₹2,250) is insufficient. Candidates must also pay the Program Fee (₹1,000 per program/campus) for each B.A. LL.B. or B.B.A. LL.B. course they wish to apply for. Failure to pay both components will lead to the rejection of the application, jeopardizing your chance at a top-tier law education.

The SLAT 2026 application process is underway. The deadline to complete the online registration and fee payment is set for November 30, 2025 (Sunday). This date marks the absolute final opportunity to secure your candidature for the SLAT 2026 entrance test, which is scheduled to be held in two sessions on December 20 and December 28, 2025.

However, the Symbiosis application process is unique and demands meticulous attention to its two-part fee structure. Many applicants mistakenly assume that paying the entrance test fee is enough. This is a critical error that can lead to summary disqualification. The application for each desired law school program is considered complete only upon successful payment of both fees: the SLAT Test Fee and the Programme Fee.

  • SLAT Test Registration Fee: This is the non-refundable, mandatory fee of ₹2,250 per test (plus applicable taxes) that grants the candidate the right to appear for the SLAT 2026 exam. Candidates opting for both tests (Test 1 and Test 2) must pay this fee twice, totaling ₹4,500.
  • Programme Registration Fee: This is an additional, non-refundable fee of ₹1,000 (plus applicable taxes) that must be paid for each specific Symbiosis Law School (SLS) and program combination the candidate applies for. For example, applying to B.A. LL.B. at SLS Pune and B.B.A. LL.B. at SLS Noida requires paying the Programme Fee twice (₹2,000).

A candidate who pays only the SLAT Test Fee but neglects the Programme Fee will be allowed to sit for the exam but will not be considered for the final selection and admission process at the respective Symbiosis Law Schools. Aspirants must act immediately to complete both payments before the November 30, 2025, deadline.

SLAT 2026 Exam Structure and Evaluation Process

The Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) 2026 has a highly structured exam pattern, and understanding it is key to effective last-minute preparation. The entire selection process is now divided into two distinct stages: the Computer-Based Test (CBT) and the Personal Interview (PI), with the Writing Ability Test (WAT) having been discontinued for 2026.

  • Computer-Based Test (CBT) Details:
    • Exam Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted entirely in English.
    • Duration: The test is concise, lasting only 60 minutes (1 hour).
    • Total Questions: 60 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
    • Total Marks: 60 marks (1 mark per question).
    • Negative Marking: Crucially, there is NO negative marking for incorrect or unattempted questions, encouraging candidates to attempt all questions.
    • Weightage: The SLAT score accounts for 70% of the final merit list weightage.
  • Sectional Breakdown (All sections carry equal weightage—12 questions/12 marks):
    • Logical Reasoning (12 Questions)
    • Legal Reasoning (12 Questions)
    • Analytical Reasoning (12 Questions)
    • Reading Comprehension (12 Questions)
    • General Knowledge (12 Questions)
  • Selection Process Stage 2: Personal Interview (PI):
    • Only candidates shortlisted based on their SLAT score will be called for the Personal Interview (PI).
    • The PI carries a weightage of 30% in the final merit calculation.
    • Final selection is purely based on the combined score of the SLAT exam (70 marks) and the Personal Interview (30 marks), totaling 100 marks.

Mandatory Eligibility and Key Documents Checklist

Before paying the dual application fees, every aspirant must ensure they meet the minimum eligibility criteria set by SIU for the five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programs.

  • Academic Qualification:
    • Candidates must have successfully passed the Class 12 (10+2) examination or its equivalent from a recognized board.
    • Candidates who are currently appearing for their Class 12 exams in the academic year 2025-26 are also eligible to apply provisionally.
  • Minimum Marks Requirement:
    • General and OBC categories must secure a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
    • SC/ST candidates must secure a minimum of 40% aggregate marks.
  • Age Limit:
    • There is no upper or lower age limit for candidates applying for SLAT 2026, aligning with the Bar Council of India (BCI) guidelines.
  • Essential Documents for Application:
    • Latest Passport-size Photograph: Scanned, colored, and not more than 6 months old (JPEG/JPG format, size \leq 100KB}).
    • Scanned Signature: Clear and legible (JPEG/JPG format, size \leq 100 \text{ KB}).
    • Valid ID Proof: A scanned copy of an Aadhar Card, PAN Card, or Driving License.
    • Academic Mark Sheets: Class 10th and 12th mark sheets (if available).

Conclusion: Do Not Miss This Final Opportunity

The countdown to the SLAT 2026 registration closure on November 30, 2025, is in its final days. Aspirants are strongly advised to visit the official SLAT portal immediately, complete the application form, and most importantly, ensure that they successfully submit both the ₹2,250 SLAT Test Fee and the ₹1,000 Programme Fee for every Symbiosis Law School they intend to join. A partially paid application is an invalid application. Secure your candidacy now and shift your full focus to preparation for the exam dates of December 20 and 28, 2025.
