The Rajasthan NEET UG Counselling Board has suspended all reporting and joining at Vyas Dental College in Jodhpur in compliance with a High Court judgment, creating uncertainty for aspirants with provisional seat allotments.

In a major development affecting dental aspirants in Rajasthan, the Rajasthan NEET UG Medical and Dental Admission/Counselling Board-2025 has announced the immediate suspension of all reporting and joining activities at Vyas Dental College, Jodhpur. The official notification, issued in compliance with a High Court judgment dated May 22, 2025, has halted the admission process at the institution until further notice.

The High Court case revolves around a dispute regarding the college's BDS seat matrix. The court had previously ruled that the college could only admit students on 50 seats, not the 100 it had been previously allowed. This order was based on a review of the seat-to-student ratio and other regulatory compliance issues raised by the Dental Council of India (DCI). The court's judgment was a cautionary measure to ensure that admissions are conducted as per the approved seat capacity.

What This Means for Aspirants

The directive from the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), Jaipur, means that all candidates who were provisionally allotted a seat at Vyas Dental College in the first round of counselling are now unable to proceed with their admissions. These students are advised not to report or join the college until a new order is issued.

This legal intervention highlights the importance of institutional compliance with regulatory bodies like the DCI and the NMC. It serves as a reminder for aspirants to constantly check for official updates from the counselling board. The board has also confirmed that the suspension is in force until the legal and compliance measures are fully resolved.

For affected candidates, the situation is one of uncertainty, as their seats are currently in limbo. They must regularly check the official websites of the Rajasthan NEET UG Board and the Medical Education Department for any new instructions. It is expected that the counselling board will issue a clear directive regarding the fate of these students and the seats, likely before the second round of counselling begins.
