The NEET UG 2025 counselling process for the state of Rajasthan has entered a crucial phase as the Round 2 choice filling and locking window is now officially open. This round is a vital opportunity for aspirants aiming to secure one of the 724 vacant MBBS and BDS seats in the state's government and private medical and dental colleges. With the security deposit and a strict deadline, aspirants must approach this stage with extreme caution and attention to detail.

High Stakes: Understanding the Security Deposit

One of the most significant aspects of the Rajasthan counselling process is the security deposit, which varies depending on the type of institution. It's essential for aspirants to be aware of these amounts before filling their choices, as the deposit is a prerequisite for participation in the allotment process.

Here’s a breakdown of the security deposit amounts:

  • Government Medical Colleges: The security deposit is ₹10,000 for General and OBC candidates. For SC, ST, and ST-STA candidates, it is ₹5,000.
  • Private Medical Colleges: For candidates aspiring for a seat in a private medical college, the deposit is a substantial ₹2 lakh.
  • Private Dental Colleges: The security deposit for private dental colleges is ₹10,000.

This deposit serves to ensure that only serious candidates participate in the counselling process and is an important financial consideration for all applicants.

Crucial Dates and Instructions for Aspirants

The schedule for Round 2 is well-defined, leaving no room for delays. Aspirants must strictly adhere to the following timelines to be considered for a seat:

  • Choice Filling and Locking: The online window for filling and locking your preferences is open from September 19 to September 22, 2025. It is highly recommended to finalize your choices well before the deadline.
  • Provisional Merit List: The provisional merit list, which determines your eligibility for a seat, will be published on September 23, 2025.
  • Final Seat Allotment: The final seat allotment result for Round 2 will be released on September 26, 2025.
  • Reporting: Candidates who are allotted a seat must report to their respective institutions from September 27 to October 2, 2025, to complete the admission process.

Candidates who are eligible for Round 2 include fresh registrants, those who were not allotted a seat in Round 1, and those seeking to upgrade their existing Round 1 seat. For all the latest news on admissions and other important information, follow Only Education News.
