Colleges and Universities on the Punjab Portal
The portal includes 61 government colleges and 54 private state colleges. All these colleges are affiliated with three major state universities in Punjab. The partner universities involved are Guru Nanak Dev University and Punjab University Patiala. Panjab University, Chandigarh, is the third university that is part of this system. The courses available are in arts, science, commerce, BCA, and BBA.
How to Check Punjab UG Merit Status 2026?
Candidates who have registered on the portal can check their merit status online. The merit list shows which college and course has been allotted, along with the candidate’s rank.Follow these steps to view your status.

Candidates need to pay a registration fee of Rs 200 on the portal. This fee covers application to all linked colleges in one window. Reserved category seats are allocated as per Punjab state quota rules. SC and BC candidates must also upload caste and current-year income certificates. Candidates from outside Punjab may have fewer seat options. Always check the prospectus of your chosen college on the portal.
What Happens After Round 1 Counselling?
Candidates who miss Round 1 can apply in Round 2. Vacant seats from Round 1 will be made available for fresh allotment. The same merit list and portal will be used again. Open counselling is the last stage of the admission process. It allows direct admission for any remaining seats. The fee deposit window also closes on the last day of open counselling.
