The Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Uttar Pradesh, has announced a crucial revision to the schedule for the first round of the UP NEET PG 2025 Counselling. This extension provides a vital opportunity for aspirants to meticulously review and lock their preferred choices for admission into MD, MS, Diploma, and DNB courses under the state's 50% quota seats.

The decision to revise the timeline comes as a relief to many postgraduate medical aspirants who are carefully navigating the overlapping schedules of the All India Quota (AIQ) and various state counselling processes.

Revised and Finalized Round 1 Schedule

Aspirants who have successfully completed the initial online registration and paid the mandatory security deposit are eligible to participate in the choice-filling and locking process. The revised dates are now firm, demanding immediate action from all participants:

EventRevised Dates
Choice Filling and Locking PeriodNovember 15, 2025, to November 24, 2025
Seat Allotment Result DateNovember 26, 2025
Downloading Allotment LetterNovember 27, 2025, to November 29, 2025
Final Reporting/Admission to CollegesNovember 27, 2025, to November 29, 2025, & December 01, 2025, to December 05, 2025

The most significant change is the extension of the choice filling deadline to November 24. This extension acknowledges the strategic importance of this step, allowing candidates adequate time to analyze the updated seat matrix (if any) and finalize their choice list according to their NEET PG 2025 rank and desired specialty. Candidates are strongly advised to fill in the maximum number of choices to maximize their chances of securing a seat.

Mandatory Steps After Choice Locking

Once the choice filling window closes on November 24, the process moves swiftly to seat processing:

  1. Result Publication: The Round 1 seat allotment result will be published on November 26, 2025, on the official counselling website, upneet.gov.in. Candidates must download their allotment letter immediately upon result declaration.
  2. Document Verification & Reporting: The final and most critical step involves downloading the allotment letter and physically reporting to the allotted college between November 27 and December 5 (with a break in between). Candidates must carry all original documents, including the NEET PG score card, college certificates, caste/domicile proofs, and the prescribed admission fee. Failure to report within the stipulated timeframe will lead to the forfeiture of the allotted seat.

This Round 1 allotment is crucial as it sets the baseline for subsequent rounds. Aspiring doctors must treat this schedule with utmost seriousness to secure their spot in the prestigious PG medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh.
