In a move that offers new opportunities for thousands of medical aspirants, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially announced the addition of 197 MBBS seats to the NEET UG 2025 Round 2 counselling. This decision comes after a thorough review of the seat matrix and is based on new information received from two key medical institutions. The addition of these seats is a welcome relief for aspirants and is a part of the continuous effort to maximize seat allocation through the NEET counselling process.

The newly added seats are distributed across two prominent colleges: ESIC Medical College, Hyderabad, and Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Belagavi. At ESIC Medical College, Hyderabad, nine seats have been added under the Employees' State Insurance Scheme (ESI) quota. Meanwhile, Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Belagavi, has seen a substantial increase, with 188 new seats. Of these, 158 fall under the Deemed/Paid Seats Quota, and 30 are designated for the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) quota.

This development, along with the inclusion of other newly accredited seats, has necessitated a revision of the counselling schedule. As a result, the MCC has extended the timeline for Round 2 of the UG counselling. This extension provides candidates with more time to make informed choices and participate in the seat allocation process effectively. The revised schedule, which will be uploaded on the MCC's official website in the coming days, is a crucial piece of information for all aspiring doctors and will determine the next steps in their admission journey.

The addition of these seats is a critical update in a year that has seen a dynamic admission process. Aspirants are strongly advised to keep a close watch on the official MCC website for the updated schedule and any further notifications.
