Karnataka NEET UG 2025: Counselling Round 2 Re-evaluates Seat Matrix with 450 New Seats
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is set to include 450 newly approved MBBS seats in the Round 2 counselling process, with the final seat allotment list now being revised to accommodate the new additions.

In a crucial development for medical aspirants in Karnataka, the NEET UG 2025 counselling process for Round 2 has taken an important turn with the official inclusion of 450 new MBBS seats. The National Medical Commission (NMC) recently approved the seat increase, prompting the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) to update its seat matrix to reflect the changes, providing a much-needed boost to the state's medical seat count.
With these newly added seats, which include 400 seats in eight government medical colleges and 50 seats in a deemed university, the state’s total number of MBBS seats has reached a record 12,644. This significant increase is expected to bring down the cutoff ranks, offering a second chance to many deserving candidates who missed out on a seat in Round 1.
Revised Final Allotment and Next Steps
While the provisional allotment results for Round 2 were published earlier, KEA is now finalizing the seat allotment based on the updated matrix. The counselling body has advised all candidates to regularly check the official KEA website for the final allotment list, as the schedule for fee payment and college reporting will be announced shortly.
Aspirants who participated in the Round 2 choice filling are advised to keep all their original documents ready for the next phase, which is the physical reporting to the allotted college. This includes their NEET UG scorecard, Class 10th and 12th mark sheets, domicile certificate, and other relevant documents as per the information bulletin.
